Chez Kenzo Bar and Grill

The service here is TERRIBLE. The food was really good but it was a shame that it was hard to enjoy with the awful service we received. Chez Kenzo is the perfect place to go when you have no idea what you want to eat. Their happy hour menu has a variety of food, ranging from quesadillas to agedashi tofu. I was very impressed with everything we received for such a great price. But then came the service. It was yesterday, May 9th 2026 when we arrived for our 5pm reservation. Nobody greeted us for a while, and the restaurant was nearly empty, then once we were finally spotted, they greeted us as though we had just intruded their house. They then had us seated. Our server had in INSANE attitude for no reason at all. I felt like I was bothering her by existing. She said “what do you want” and then after we told her she took it down and walked away without saying anything. She never checked in on us the whole time we were eating. Then after a while of waiting she came back and said “are you done” and we POLITELY said “yes, thank you”. And she just walked away? About 10 minutes pass and we still had not gotten our check back. We literally saw our server walking around outside doing nothing. But then a kinder server passed by our table and we asked her if we were supposed to go to the front for our check. She looked surprised and said that she would bring our check right away. But we had Apple Pay so we went into the back to pay. After we payed, we noticed something wrong... Our check was double the amount it was supposed to be? We looked back and realized our server charged us for a $25 dish that we did NOT order. At this point I was furious. The restaurant was nearly empty and they had JUST opened.. so I don’t know why the service was already so bad. Overall, the food is great! Just saying, if you have a bad day, don’t take it out on the customers. That makes no sense. I’ve seen many other reviews complaining about the service. So please work on the hospitality here. Thank you for the amazing food, it was delicious.

Bring Family and Friends and fill your belly’s at Happy Hour. Great selection pupu menu of $9 items. Happy Hour drinks $5 and under. Service was outstanding! Good local food selection.

Came here on a Friday early evening and this place was packed. Luckily we were seated quickly at one of the outside tables reserved for those without a reservation. The happy hour drink and food menus had good choices. We opted for sake cocktail, which was light and refreshing. Not much alcohol, but tasted pretty good. We ordered the fish cake tempuras, fried rice and pork lettuce wraps. All were pretty good and priced reasonably. Parking validation is available, though you have to follow a 6-step process. See the last picture for instructions. Plenty of street parking, except it’s in a tow-away zone from 3:30-6:30 p.m. weekdays.
