Champs Hawaii Sports Bar & Grill
About
Where Honolulu Sports Fans Gather
Situated in the heart of Honolulu, Champs Hawaii Sports Bar & Grill functions as a no-frills destination for catching the game. The space is dominated by the flickering glow of multiple flat-screen televisions, ensuring that whether it is NFL Sunday or a marquee boxing match, you have a direct line of sight to the scoreboard. The atmosphere here is unpretentious and loud, defined by the clatter of pint glasses and the collective roar of a crowd focused intently on the play-by-play.
Menu Staples and Local Flavor
The menu leans heavily into classic pub fare designed to soak up plenty of cold local brews. You will find standard bar favorites here, such as crispy chicken wings tossed in tangy buffalo sauce and loaded potato skins that arrive steaming hot. It is the kind of place where the kitchen keeps things consistent rather than experimental, making it a reliable choice for casual groups who want familiar food without the fuss. The scent of fried appetizers and charred grill marks hangs in the air, a familiar trademark of a classic Hawaiian sports lounge.
Practical Observations
Before you head over, keep in mind that the interior setup is optimized for screens rather than intimacy. If you are looking for a quiet corner for a business meeting, you might find the volume levels a bit challenging during high-stakes games. Parking in this busy corridor of Honolulu can be a bit of a puzzle, so plan to arrive a few minutes early to secure a spot nearby. It is an ideal spot for those who value camaraderie, affordable pitchers, and an unobstructed view of the game in an authentic, high-energy environment.

The place just got a new manager and he has made a great difference to everything. Everything seems more inviting and fun. Live music and DJ Friday nights made it a party.

Champs is our go to sports bar for food, drink and fun. They have a great menu and the food and burgers are fantastic, nice selection of ice cold beer and the cocktails were excellent. Fun place to watch sports. They also have a pool table and darts. The music was on point and added to the ambiance. Friendly staff make you feel right at home.

Ok, 2nd time here and confirmed that 1st time awesomeness was not a fluke. 1st time had Wagyu Sliders and Banana Lumpia with Ube ice cream for dessert, was crazy good. 2nd time had Chicken Katsu and Fried Noodles with the fried Pound Cake and ice cream for dessert, oh Lord help me! Sooo ono. Holy (bleep), this is a hidden gem for food. Employees courteous and swift with service. Inside was clean and did not have typical wet bar smell most bars have. Great experience all around, AGAIN! Be back soon. Mahalo Champs!

Champs is the best! A local/neighborhood bar with so much to offer. I love that it's huge inside but still has a comfortable and super friendly vibe. Lots of games, great jukebox and the nicest most attentive service around. They also sponsor Go Kickball (The new Honolulu Co-Ed Sports League!).

We came here for the trivia night on Monday evening and had a great time. Trivia host, Mahalo Mike, was great- funny and engaging, service from bar staff was good too. All ages in the bar and a good turnout for the trivia

Cool that they were doing trivia (on Monday night) seems like a fun spot for college aged, but the food is lacking. Salad dressing on the side would have been preferred. Advertised as crispy tofu salad but the tofu isn't crispy. It's the wongtong strips or whatever they are that is crispy. They used to have a vegetarian burger, although it comes with cheese, no avocado. 🙁 Or it did. The string fries were worse than McDonald's, not crispy enough and thin. I should have tried waffle fries... but if you eat animal parts, you have plenty of options here. Hopefully, they improve the menu...panda express would have been better with their tofu eggplant. Crispy tofu would bring this dish up a notch. Friendly service.🤙Aloha🌸

This place is amazing. I discovered it by happenstance while waiting for a local business to open. It was around 9am, and football was on. The barman was a white dude with dreads called Michael. He was cool. So was the bar. Can’t wait to come back!

1st time here and it didnt disappoint to the Hype! The place is currently decorated for Halloween and let me tell you! They went all out! If you havent gone yet, add it to your list. To the Owners, this is probably the BEST experience post covid in this type of environment. Thank you for a Great experience, cheers to many more years of Success! Double doors to the establishment, left side to enter and right side to exit. Security to check ID upon entry, very courteous and kind. Definitely creates a safe atmosphere to know they know whose in their building. Great Music mix with a live DJ Pool Table Multiple Dart boards Dance floor Ample seating, bar counter, high top tables with chairs, low seating tables with chairs, tall standing tables. Service: fast paced, very great customer service, our waitress came around often and we didnt have to wait long to order or receive our drinks! If you "check in" via Yelp, they have $5off $25 purchase. Ask what the specials are, there is a QR code on the table to scan for food. Let your waitress know if youd like the paper copy of the drink list.
