Carl Og3 Burger Shop
About
Flavor Worth the Search in Honolulu
Finding a truly exceptional burger in the heart of Honolulu can feel like a hunt, but Carl Og3 Burger Shop delivers a focused menu that skips the fluff. As soon as you step up to the counter, the smell of seasoned, searing beef hits you instantly, cutting through the island humidity. It is a no-frills, counter-service spot that prioritizes the chemistry of a well-toasted bun and a patty with a crust that crackles under the bite.
This isn't your typical sit-down tourist trap. It is a place for the local crowd who know exactly what they want: a straightforward, high-quality cheeseburger. The kitchen operates with an efficiency that creates a rhythmic clatter of spatulas hitting the grill, a sound that signals your meal is moments away. While the seating is limited and the parking near this part of town requires a bit of patience, the result is worth the minor logistical effort.
The menu leans heavily into classic American comfort food executed with precision. You won’t find endless toppings that distract from the main event—the meat is the focal point. It is the kind of lunch or early dinner spot ideal for those who value speed and substance over elaborate dining room decor. If you are exploring the neighborhood and need a reliable, savory fix that hits the spot without pretense, this shop stands as a staple for burger purists looking for a quick, satisfying meal.

Ive heard a lot about this place from several people, and finally made it there for a Sunday lunch at their new location, which is oddly in a bbq restaurant. It was pretty mellow for a Sunday lunch, the food was tasty, but it wasn't a blow my mind delicious meal. I also couldn't really tell that it was using high quality beef or not. The burgers were a bit messy to eat (especially the one with an egg, which was expected). That's probably why it comes in a paper to use to shield your hands. Their fries were good but a tad salty. The menu wasn't very extensive, but everyone found something to order. Their bathroom is pretty nice to wash your grubby hands when you're done.

Great smash burger. Came at 11am weekday. 2 out of 6 parking slots were open. People started arriving at 11:10am. Would return.

No exaggeration when people say this is the best burger of their life. None at all. Could taste the love in the food. The chili cheese fries with the two burgers definitely made this unforgettable.
