California Pizza Kitchen (300 Rodgers Blvd)
About
A Reliable Stop Before Takeoff
Located right inside the main terminal of the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, this California Pizza Kitchen serves as a bustling anchor for travelers navigating their way through Honolulu. It is the perfect spot for those who want a predictable, high-quality meal before boarding a long flight across the Pacific.
Signature Bites and Airport Energy
The menu highlights the classic California-style hearth-baked pizzas that made the brand a household name, including the famous Original BBQ Chicken Pizza. You will hear the familiar hum of departing jet engines and the rapid-fire announcements of airport staff, creating a high-energy environment that feels distinctly transient. The smell of wood-fired dough and tangy barbecue sauce permeates the dining area, offering a comforting aroma amid the chaos of terminal travel.
Navigating Your Pre-Flight Meal
If you are looking for a quick sit-down experience, this location is ideal, though be prepared for a slightly frantic pace during peak flight hours. While the seating is designed for rapid turnover, the staff works hard to keep tables cleared despite the constant influx of luggage-toting visitors. It is an excellent choice for families or business travelers who prefer the consistency of a well-known menu over the uncertainty of airport grab-and-go kiosks. Whether you are craving a crisp salad or a thin-crust pie, you can find a familiar, reliable slice of the mainland right here in the heart of the Hawaiian islands.

The service was non existent if you were not white. Completly ignored us and clearly saw us standing there but as soon as a white couple showed up she attended them really quick. Wish I would have gotten employees name but it was very apparent that she did not serve us for the simple fact that we are Latinos.

I describe this place as one of those restaurants where if you want to eat, this is a waste of your time. The first problem was the cashier, she was completely useless when taking my order. She didn’t know the prices or even what ingredients were in the dishes. After I’d been ordering for 10 minutes, the cashier told me my order would be ready in 10 minutes, but 30 minutes went by and she just kept telling me it would be ready soon. I waited 40 minutes just to get my food. When I taste the pizza was hard and tasteless, so I ended up leaving it and walking out without eating. A waste of time and money. I recommend looking for another place to eat.

I was disgusted with my pizza on the evening of March 10 2026 . Pizza was way over cooked hinging on burnt . I took one bite and returned the pizza for a refund . The manager informed me they were using a different dough and this is why all the pizzas were coming out way over cooked ? Totally unacceptable for a big chain like california kitchen, very poor serving pizza like this , damages their Reputation. The person at the front counter who took my order was an idiot and should not be working there !

Difficult to rate this place because the salad was absolutely delicious and fresh! It's packaged in a way that makes it so easy to bring on the flight with you as well. Removing a star because $22 for a salad is insane, but it was the best option in the terminal.

Lackluster experience, there is an “Order Here” sign at the counter but you are told to order at the kiosk, so the signage needs to be refreshed. I ordered for dine-in and my order was announced but was still waiting around for the worker to actually hand me my pizza. Right after they called my number the worker went straight back to making another pizza without seeing me nor acknowledging other customers who were in line waiting to order. So I was just staring at my pizza box sitting in the kitchen but couldn’t actually claim it right after the order was called. And this (see attached photo) is what I received as a “Margherita” pizza, this does not look like a Margherita pizza to me. The pizza was just a cheese pizza with a few chopped tomatoes thrown in.

I ordered “The original BBQ Chicken Pizza.” It was delicious. Very tasty, the combination of flavors was great! Nice amount of cheese! Not a big fan of cilantro but I have to recognize it complemented the rest of the flavors pretty well. The service was fast! We sat in the garden outside (downstairs) and enjoyed the view while eating lunch. It was hot 🥵, but very peaceful and relaxing overall. I would recommend this place for sure!!

My go-to option for food at HNL. Located in Terminal 2 food court. Generous toppings but I would prefer if they cooked the pizzas 2 minutes longer. The crust was barely just cooked. If you order anything other than pizza (salad or sandwich) they are all pre-made and you grab them out of the refrigerator. It would be awesome if they offered an option to warm up the sandwiches.

There are some complaints in the reviews but it was super fast (2 ovens) lots of people working behind the counter. generous toppings, pretty good for airport. Actually pretty good for anywhere. Full disclosure, I've never been to this franchise before so it might be better if you were not at an airport but the price is high at all outlets in an airport and you should expect to pay a premium.

The airport literally had nothing else open and we read the reviews of this place and were hesitant to get food here but we did anyway and it was really awesome. The pizzas came out fast and were super tasty
