Cafe At Dada
About
An Artistic Escape in Kaka'ako
Stepping into Cafe At Dada feels less like entering a standard eatery and more like wandering into an artist's personal loft. Located right in the creative heart of Honolulu's Kaka'ako district, this spot balances an industrial aesthetic with walls adorned by rotating local art. It is the kind of place where the espresso machine’s rhythmic hiss acts as the soundtrack to students and creatives sketching in notebooks over iced lattes.
The Menu Philosophy
The culinary focus here centers on simple, high-quality ingredients executed with a thoughtful touch. Signature items often include their elevated avocado toast and artisanal sandwiches, which are prepared with locally sourced bread that provides a satisfying, crusty crunch. If you catch them on a busy afternoon, the aroma of ground Arabica beans mixed with fresh, toasted sourdough is unavoidable.
What to Expect
The space is intentionally intimate, making it perfect for solo work sessions or quiet catch-ups. Keep in mind that seating is somewhat limited, especially during the mid-morning rush when the urban crowd ducks in for a caffeine fix. While you might find yourself navigating a tight walkway between tables, the vibrant, energetic pulse of the neighborhood makes the slight squeeze well worth it. It is an unpretentious sanctuary for those who value craft coffee and a relaxed, community-driven atmosphere amidst the bustling Honolulu landscape.

I recently got a men's haircut and perm from Esther Park, and I am so happy I did. She did an excellent job in taking care of me, she was attentive, patient, and professional. She regularly checked in on me asking if I needed water or if I was too warm. I am thankful how careful and detail-oriented she was throughout the whole process. She genuinely cared about both my comfort and the final outcome. I am very happy with how my hair turned out. If you're looking for someone who is skilled, caring, and takes the time to do things right, I highly recommend Esther Park. Thank you!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Dada Spa Salon & Cafe was disappointing enough that I felt the need to share it. From the moment I walked in, one employee treated me in a very dismissive and judgmental way. I had just come from the pool area with a towel, and I could clearly feel the attitude and disrespect throughout the interaction. What made it worse was being charged $69 for a 75ml hair mask that is sold for around $25 almost everywhere else online and in retail beauty stores. I understand salon pricing is usually more expensive than online pricing, but charging nearly 180% more for the exact same small product is honestly excessive. I genuinely felt misled by the pricing. As someone from Los Angeles who is familiar with salon and beauty retail pricing, I knew immediately something was off. The interaction made me feel like assumptions were being made about me, and it honestly came across as taking advantage of someone they assumed would not know better. Thankfully, I was able to return the product unopened, but the overall customer service and attitude left a very negative impression. For a salon in a luxury hotel setting, I expected professionalism, transparency, and respectful treatment toward all customers.

I flew 5 hrs to sit in Esther Park’s chair. She provided me with the best hair salon experience in my life. Not a drop of hair dye on my ears, forehead or clothes. She shaped my asymmetrical bob hair cut beautifully and better than any other stylist. She is as meticulous with her shears as she is with her attention to her client. I will continue to fly 10 hrs total every 3 months to experience hair cutting/styling and color perfection.

This is located on the 3rd floor of the Ala Moana hotel. Made reservation for a Korean Contouring facial. My appointment was with Kaitlyn. She was a couple of minutes late in calling me in and my facial finished 2 minutes early. Kaitlynn was very good at what she does. Massage pressure was perfect and very good. However, we kept getting interrupted by someone outside. When it came to the part where she was putting the clay mask on me, she left for a good 10-15 minutes. When she came back, she started massaging one of my arm/hand and a customer walks in and disturbed us again. So, although Kaitlyn was very good at what she does, the experience wasn’t very good as I felt like I did not get my full hour of uninterrupted facial.

Paige is absolutely wonderful! I haven’t gotten my hair professionally done in almost 3 years because no one ever does what i ask for and i always leave with wishing i never got my hair cut. I asked paige for a full cut + color, layering while also keeping the length and absolutely no thinning. Not only does my hair feel so healthy, but it’s still long!! finally someone who actually listens when i say KEEP THE LENGTH. Adding on that the layers look beautiful and blended straight without having to style it, which is something that definitely held me off from getting layers done because i always hated how you NEEDED to style your hair in order for layers to not look like crap. She also gave the most relaxing head massage ever. Love my hair, loved the experience, glad to finally find someone who i trust with my hair!
