Bread + Butter
About
Coffee Culture and Coastal Bites
Stepping into Bread + Butter, you immediately notice the hum of conversation blending with the aggressive hiss of a milk steamer. Located right in the heart of Honolulu’s vibrant Kaka’ako district, this spot serves as a reliable anchor for locals looking for high-quality espresso and a curated menu that leans heavily into elevated breakfast and lunch classics.
The Experience
The space feels industrial yet airy, with polished concrete floors and floor-to-ceiling windows that let the bright Hawaii sun pour in. It is a fantastic setting for a laptop-wielding remote worker or someone needing a slow start to their morning. You will find that the scent of freshly ground beans overpowers the savory aroma of their signature breakfast sandwiches, which are built on house-made brioche buns that strike the perfect balance between buttery and light.
Menu Highlights
Their culinary team focuses on precision. The star of the show is often their seasonal toast program, featuring thick-cut, toasted slabs topped with local produce and savory spreads. Don't overlook the pastries; the flakey, golden-brown crusts are a staple for those who frequent this part of the city. While the quality is high, be prepared for a bit of a challenge if you are arriving by car; the parking stalls in the complex fill up quickly, so you might find yourself circling the block or opting for a nearby street space.
Whether you are refueling after a morning surf or meeting a colleague for a casual lunch, the atmosphere remains consistently relaxed. It’s the kind of place that understands the rhythm of Honolulu—unpretentious, flavor-forward, and consistently caffeinated.

ÌCame back to this place for the paella and wine Tuesdays. It's all u can eat paella with a glass of wine for $20. First off their paella hardly had any meat and the waitresses only give u a piece of meat on the plate and so much rice which makes the price not worth eating. The ad made it looked like it was worth the price but actually going there I was pretty disappointed. You can count how many shrimp was on the plate. Great concept but the restaurant can't be cheap on the meat on paella. Usually paella is covered with meat on top and can hardly see the rice. Place is nice but they need to upgrade the deal.
