About
A Neighborhood Staple in Kaimuki
Stepping into Blue Ribbon Bar & Grill feels like an immediate descent into the authentic heartbeat of Honolulu. Tucked away in the laid-back Kaimuki district, this isn't a place for white tablecloths or stiff formalities; it is where the local trade workers and neighborhood regulars congregate once the sun dips behind the mountain range. You will hear the familiar clinking of pint glasses and the low, steady hum of sports radio punctuated by genuine laughter.
Unpretentious Comfort Food
The menu focuses on straightforward, soul-satisfying fare that pairs perfectly with a cold beer. Expect hearty portions that reflect Hawaii’s distinct melting pot of culinary influences. While the kitchen keeps things simple, the execution of their classic grill items hits the mark for those craving consistency. It is the kind of establishment where the bartenders remember your drink order, and the smell of charred aromatics from the grill drifts through the open doors, greeting you before you even sit down.
The Local Edge
Be prepared for the reality of dining in a popular community hub: parking can be a bit of a jigsaw puzzle on the surrounding side streets, and the acoustics favor a lively, boisterous atmosphere rather than a hushed conversation. It is a space designed for catching up, watching the game, and enjoying a slice of life that remains untouched by the high-gloss tourism of Waikiki. Whether you are a resident looking for a consistent weeknight spot or a traveler hoping to find where the locals actually spend their Tuesday evenings, this bar offers a sturdy, no-frills experience that feels like home.

Went here for a friend's bday...If like karaoke, this a fun and lively place to be. It gets crowded since it not a very big spot, but the people are great friendly atmosphere, it like a party with in a party Food was really good, kimchee/seafood pancakes were thick and nicely crispy, nachos bulgogi were delicious. Services was hit or miss since it's crowded but they were very nice. Warning it does get pretty loud, song selection was good($1 per song)

A cute dive bar frequented by locals who love to karaoke (especially kupunas singing their oldies) which I find super charming and local for pau hana. Throughout my time there the songs kept coming so not for those who want to have a quiet drink at the bar. The food options are Korean and Hawaiian food which is comforting after a long day. There is plenty of parking at the lot. If you come with a party there is a private room you can use too which requires minimum charge and a separate karaoke machine. All karaoke is $1 per song. It's also not crazy busy so staff are not overwhelmed and all patrons cheered and sang along to the songs. It's a really cute place if that's the kind of vibe you are looking for.
