Blazin Steaks Atkinson
About
Quick-Fire Hibachi in the Heart of Honolulu
If you find yourself navigating the busy corridors near the Atkinson area, the waft of sizzling garlic and soy sauce likely leads straight to Blazin Steaks. This is not your white-tablecloth experience; it is a high-energy, no-frills kitchen where the focus is entirely on getting a hot, protein-heavy plate into your hands as efficiently as possible.
The menu centers on the Japanese-inspired teppanyaki style that has become a staple of local Honolulu dining. You will hear the rhythmic clang of metal spatulas hitting the flat-top grill, a sound that serves as the unofficial soundtrack to this neighborhood haunt. The signature steak plates—seared to order with a generous dusting of proprietary seasoning—arrive alongside scoops of white rice and fresh greens. It is the kind of meal meant to fuel a long day at Ala Moana Beach Park or a late shift at a nearby office.
While the footprint here is compact, the flavor profiles are aggressive. Be prepared for a short wait during the lunch rush, as local residents and workers flock here for the reliability of the chicken and steak combos. The space is tight, and you might find yourself hovering near the counter while your order finishes, but that is part of the charm. If you are looking for a straightforward, delicious plate of food that hits the spot without the formality of a sit-down bistro, this Atkinson-adjacent grill delivers exactly what it promises: consistent, fire-kissed meals in the center of the city.

I used to love coming here like 10 years ago. I wanted to try it again and was very disappointed. The service was great, the workers were nice and fast. However, the food is not the same as before. It was not tasty at all, im so sorry that I have to say that. I got the steak and garlic shrimp combo for 18-19$ before tax and tip. The steak was shredded up pieces like it was shredded Philly style or like a Korean bulgogi. Lacking flavor and had that old smell to it. Shrimp was better but still a little lacking. Rice was dry and salad looks a little sad. I dont think i would come back for that.

I have supported this business before although their prices have gotten very high. I bought a $16 plate & asked for one extra garlic sauce. They wanted to charge me in extra 50 cents, after paying 16$ for a plate. The sauce they gave me was basically empty & they forgot my soda which comes with the plate. Never coming here again. Without the garlic sauce their steak is very dry, even at medium rare.

The food was made quick. My chicken was a bit dry. The steak was ok, I thought it would be a big price then sliced after cooking.
