A Legacy on Waikiki Beach

Stepping into Beachhouse at the Moana feels like being transported back to the elegance of 1901. Situated within the historic Moana Surfrider, this Waikiki landmark balances Victorian grandeur with the relaxed spirit of the Pacific. You will find yourself dining under the soft glow of chandeliers, with the iconic banyan tree casting shifting shadows across the open-air lanai.

Refined Pacific Flavors

The culinary focus here centers on locally sourced Hawaiian seafood and prime cuts. Executive Chef and his team are known for the signature Kona lobster and grass-fed island beef, prepared with a sophistication that honors the heritage of Honolulu’s first hotel. Every plate arrives as a study in balance—think bright, acidic citrus notes paired with the rich, buttery textures of fresh-caught moi or ahi.

The Atmosphere

This is the spot for anniversaries or a formal sunset dinner. The sound of the surf crashing against the sand serves as the evening's soundtrack, though be prepared for a spirited hum of conversation and the occasional breeze that might necessitate a light wrap. It is upscale, certainly, but the sea air keeps it from feeling stuffy.

Pro-tip: valet parking at this historic property can get quite congested during prime sunset hours, so arriving a few minutes early allows you time to wander the hotel’s historical gallery before your table is ready. Whether you are a visitor looking to toast to an island vacation or a local marking a special milestone, the view of the Pacific remains the true focal point of the experience.

This is my second time here. Both times it’s been fantastic, but this time blew me out of the water. I have eaten at many fine dining restaurants across Europe and the U.S. ; and Patricia was the absolute best server I’ve ever had. The food was delightful, and her friendly service/ personal connection was the cherry on top. This was a truly special wedding celebration for us. Thank you so much Patricia and BeachHouse team!

This place was simply marvelous! We made a reservation so there wasn't a wait to be seated. The entire staff were friendly! It was a celebration so they gave us one of the best tables in the house and the view was breathtaking! The level of service provided far exceeded my expectations!

Gorgeous hotel with a beautiful view of Waikiki beach. They have an outdoor bar as well as service inside. The inside service seems to be forgotten about though when it’s busy so the wait times are extra long. Drinks and pupus were great.

Located inside Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, The Beach House offers a beautiful oceanfront setting beneath the resort’s iconic historic banyan tree .The atmosphere is classic Waikīkī—relaxed, elegant, and full of history. Our server, Sean R., was excellent—attentive, friendly, and truly enhanced the experience. A lovely spot to enjoy the scenery, ambiance, and warm island hospitality

Service and food were excellent. The lobster chowder may have been the best soup I’ve ever had. The pork belly was crispy and tender. Everything was plated well and looked very nice. The service was great- Felix was super helpful and great. The ambience was great- right in the beach and had live music. Cost wasn’t outrageous, and the portions are enormous. We’d certainly return.

Wonderful dinner here to celebrate my mother’s birthday while visiting Honolulu. We had the 4-course set menu. All courses were delicious and beautifully plated. Service was faultless from start to finish and our waiter really made us feel at ease. Lovely atmosphere in the elegant colonnade overlooking the rear terrace. Beautiful setting. Elegant without being stuffy.

Awesome, a blend of old world elegance with modern tastes and since abilities, just what you would expect from the grand lady of Waikiki (Moana Surfrider). Service is excellent and food to match. Shout out to Nathan our server...he was wonderful and encouraged us to enjoy a leisurely meal. For our 51st wedding anniversary we dined at the Beachhouse and enjoyed the price fix menu with wine paring. All the lovely food was excellent. The guest supervisor, Vernell, asked if we would like to meet the chef.. absolutely, we said. Alex came to our table and chatted with us about the food and his background. A bit pricey, but an experience you will remember fondly. A special thank you to Nathan for the extra glasses of anniversary sparkling...and the bag of Moana cookies as a parting gift. I can highly recommended the Beachhouse. Make your reservations early.

I had my engament celebration dinner at The Beachouse at Moana. I alerted them of the celebration before hand. They offered me their best outside seat overlooking the beach, patio, live musician, and light up beautiful baanan tree. The ambience with the live musician playing tropical remixes of sublime and other 90s rock was lively. They have a beautiful baanan tree that is light up with a slow fading light that cycles between purple and blue. It's simply gorgeous. The food was all expertly crafted. The oysters, lobster tails, ribeye, filet. All perfect. They even gave us a congratulations chocolate on our desert and complimentary short bread cookies from there bakery. It was a perfect evening thank you!

One of the most luxurious meals on Oahu. It’s a courses meal with some fabulous options that are local dishes. The views from the courtyard are magnificent and the service was spectacular. We enjoyed every bite and were so full when we left. The chef is fantastic! The steak and fish dishes were excellent. They’re also a sister hotel to the Royal Hawaiian. We can’t wait to go back and try more dishes.

We had a wonderful birthday celebration dinner here. We arrived just in time to enjoy the sunset, which made the evening extra special. Although our table wasn’t as close to the ocean as I had imagined, we still had a beautiful view of both the ocean and the sunset. From the start, our server greeted us warmly and provided excellent service throughout the entire meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the value at this restaurant—$110 for a four-course meal, with generous portions that left us feeling full and satisfied (not the tiny portions you often get at fine dining spots). They even offer the option to add on a complimentary course, which was a nice touch. Since it’s outdoor dining, it can feel humid and hot on days without a breeze, but the overall atmosphere is still very enjoyable. What really stood out was the hospitality. The staff surprised me with a complimentary birthday drink and even gifted us a box of cookies to take home at the end of the night. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience with amazing service, great food, and thoughtful little touches that made my birthday celebration truly special.
