About

Discover Bali Oceanfront, offering the best Seafood experience in Waikiki. Enjoy Fine Dining ($$$$) meals, explore their menu, and read reviews from the community on TasteHi.

A Front-Row Seat to the Pacific

Stepping into Bali Oceanfront feels like the transition from the bustling energy of Waikiki sidewalks to a rhythmic, salt-aired sanctuary. The open-air architecture invites the constant, rhythmic percussion of crashing waves, serving as the natural soundtrack to your meal. As you settle into your chair, the smell of charred kiawe wood and fresh citrus zest drifts from the kitchen, setting the stage for a menu that leans heavily into island-inspired continental cuisine.

Signature Island Flavors

Executive Chef-led kitchens here prioritize the day’s haul, with the macadamia nut-crusted catch becoming a perennial favorite for those seeking the buttery crunch of local harvests. The menu is structured to highlight the relationship between Honolulu farmers and the sea, featuring everything from succulent prime rib to delicate ahi poke starters that arrive chilled and vibrant. It is the kind of place that balances polished white-tablecloth service with the inevitable humidity of the Hawaiian evening.

Why This Spot Fits Your Honolulu Itinerary

If you are planning an anniversary dinner or a high-stakes business meeting, the panoramic views provide a distraction that makes conversation flow easily. Keep in mind that the popularity of this stretch of the coast means parking can be a bit of a puzzle, so opting for valet or arriving early is a local pro-tip to avoid stress. The atmosphere is upscale, yet the presence of nearby sand and surf ensures that the formality never feels stifling. Whether you are grabbing a sunset cocktail at the bar or committing to a multi-course dinner, you are squarely in the heart of Honolulu’s oceanfront dining culture, where the golden hour glow reflects off your glass long after the sun has dipped below the horizon.

Awesome beach front seating. Great ambiance. Chicken was dry and tasteless. Could not eat it. The cioppino type dish was excellent Server comp’d the chicken and added a lovely mousse dessert in celebration of our 46 anniversary.

Honestly, this dining experience was a letdown. The food was over-seasoned, making it hard to enjoy any of the flavors. On top of that, the service was really off-putting, the staff were quite rude and unwelcoming. It definitely didn't have the luxurious feel I was expecting either. Only the view was great but I won't be rushing back here anytime soon!

We had a very nice family meal at Bali Oceanfront. Ginger was our waitress and she was very friendly and helpful, with lots of suggestions. The prixe fixe menu options were very good, and my family enjoyed their cocktails. I particularly enjoyed the Lobster Bisque.

As I have said in the past, it's really hard for me to give one-star reviews- in this occasion my one-star is based on the service of our waiter. We got our dinner thru a time-share meeting (which we paid for our dinner). Our waiter was very curt. We asked if we could get bread and he said that was not part of our pre-paid meal, yet he didn't bother to ask if we wanted to order it (regardless if it was part of the pre-paid meal.) The meal came with a glass of Prosecco, which we got before our salad, and were okay with that. He came and took our order and ONLY came back to bring us our food. Not once after our dinner was served did he bother to stop and asked if we were interested in a cocktail or how our meal was, or if we were thinking about ordering bread or even to make small chatter. His whole demeanor was disparaging. I can understand when people who have a dinner like ours eat and leave without tipping but not all guests are the same. We are very well intended customers and we are very disappointed with the waiters behavior which also reflects on the restaurant itself. The restaurant may not care about losing a customer but they should definitely have a better quality in their staff when serving a table as you never know who your customer is. And we did leave a tip, even tho he did not deserve it.

The food here is okay but definitely pricey for what it is- It feels like they’re aiming for fine dining, but it falls short. I had the Monchong fish special ($69) and it was just meh—the compote was a bit too sweet for my taste which masked the flavors. The wife ordered the Miso Bouillabaisse ($59)that was yummy! The service was great- Our server Ginger was very attentive and friendly, even helping us take sunset photos and surprising my wife with a birthday dessert, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere depends heavily on where you’re seated; the views can be great, but unfortunately our experience was dampened by nearby diners constantly complaining. Overall, it’s very convenient if you’re staying at the hotel and the views are nice, but food-wise it feels like a tourist trap.

*5/5 Stars - A Fine Dining Experience with Impeccable Service: casual dress code is acceptable. We recently had the pleasure of dining at this upscale restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in from the beach in our flip flops and casual attire, we were treated like royalty. The service was top-notch, and our bartenders were friendly and attentive as we enjoyed drinks at the bar while waiting for our table. The wine selection was impressive, and we loved that they offered complimentary tastings. Our server was knowledgeable and helped us choose the perfect pairing for our meal. *Appetizers:* - *Lobster Bisque*: This was my favorite! Rich, creamy, and packed with fresh lobster flavor. - *Scallops*: Cooked to perfection, but the combination of pickled onions and bacon bits added a unique twist. It was an interesting mix of flavors that worked surprisingly well. - *Cauliflower with Macnut Crust*: Oh wow! The cauliflower was cooked to tender softness, and the crunchy macnut crust added a delightful texture. *Main Course:* - *Local Catch Trio*: This dish was a highlight! With lobster, shrimp, and ahi tuna, it was a seafood lover's dream. The asparagus was tender, and the pesto and chipotle sauces complemented the dish perfectly. *Dessert:* - *Crispy Sugar Coat with Blueberries*: This dessert was a sweet finale to our meal. The crispy sugar coat added a nice crunch, and the fresh blueberries were perfectly sweet. Paired with a cup of freshly brewed Kona coffee, it was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. *Overall:* This restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. The service was impeccable, the food was creative and delicious, and the atmosphere was elegant yet approachable. We appreciated that the dress code was casual and welcoming, making it a great spot for a night out after a day at the beach. Highly recommend! *Tips:* - Come hungry and be prepared for a multi-course meal. - Ask your server for wine pairing recommendations – they're knowledgeable and happy to help! - Don't miss the lobster bisque and local catch trio – they're must-try dishes!
