A Taste of Italy in Kapolei
Located in the heart of Kapolei, Assaggio serves as a dependable cornerstone for those craving classic Italian comfort food in West Oahu. The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, making it a go-to spot for family dinners or casual celebrations after a day at the nearby lagoons.
Signature Flavors
The kitchen leans into hearty, traditional preparations. The Pollo Assaggio—chicken breast sautéed with mushrooms and garlic in a white wine sauce—remains a crowd favorite. If you prefer bold oceanic flavors, the Cioppino is packed with fresh seafood that reflects the local bounty of Hawaii. The menu is expansive, focusing on generous portions that encourage sharing, which is precisely why the dining room often hums with the lively chatter of large groups.
What to Expect
When you walk through the doors, you are greeted by the steady clatter of silverware and the rich, unmistakable scent of garlic and simmering marinara. It is the kind of place where the waiters move with a practiced, efficient pace. A minor heads-up for those visiting during peak dinner hours: the parking lot serving the Kapolei commercial area can get quite congested, so leaving a few extra minutes to navigate the lot is a smart move. Whether you are a local resident or visiting the western side of the island, this is a straightforward, satisfying choice for anyone looking for authentic pasta dishes in a relaxed, neighborhood setting.

Probably one of the best restaurants I’ve ever ate at, and clearly the pricing and the quality of food here is a hidden gem. They have better food than all the expensive restaurants We ate out all over the island. a bigger menu with so many options and vegan friendly for one of the guests we were with. Can’t even express how happy I was with this experience and honestly, I wish we would’ve just ate there for lunch and dinner all week long while we’re in Hawaii. Long boards was pretty good too, but that was more just a view. We ate at Steakhouses, fish and seafood places. From $200 a plate and down. I would say realistically waited about 15 different places and this was by far the best. I don’t understand how the reviews aren’t five stars from everyone. anybody that gave them anything less is an idiot in my opinion. Most likely just competition or haters sorry. Nothing compared to this place!!! Just some guy from Idaho

Service here is on a whole different level! It's just absolutely amazing! Staff here are extremely friendly and go that extra mile to serve you. The food is very tasty. Really great vibes here. Price was a little steep but overall a great experience.

While I have to admit that it doesn't look like a typical Italian restaurant from the East Coast (it looks more like a modern Asian restaurant) the staff and food are amazing. The staff is second to none. And the food is all you could hope for. The veal piccata was melt in your mouth tender and full of flavor. My wife and mother had the chicken & shrimp creamy pesto and couldn't stop praising it. Well worth the trip and a very short drive if you're staying in Ko'Olina.
