A Slice of Island Sweetness in Honolulu

Steps away from the bustling streets of Waikiki, Aloha Cafe Pineapple serves as a dedicated sanctuary for those obsessed with the iconic Hawaiian fruit. The space is bright and airy, characterized by the unmistakable scent of caramelized sugars and fresh, sun-ripened pineapple that greets you the moment you step through the entrance.

The Pineapple Experience

This isn't just another dessert stop; it is a laboratory for all things pineapple. The signature soft-serve, famously swirled high into a hollowed-out fresh pineapple shell, is the highlight here. The texture is velvety, balancing the sharp, vibrant acidity of local fruit with a creamy finish that cuts through the tropical humidity. It is the perfect stop for families exploring Honolulu or solo travelers looking to escape the midday sun.

What to Expect

The cafe maintains a casual, grab-and-go energy. You will likely hear the hum of high-speed blenders mixing island fruits and the soft chatter of visitors planning their beach itineraries. While the seating is limited—meaning you might find yourself balancing your treat while standing near the counter—it is part of the charm. If you are looking for an authentic, fruit-forward snack that defines the palate of Oahu, this is the destination.

The malasadas and açaí bowl were super fresh and delicious. Tried plain, honey whip and custard malasadas and the honey whip was the standout. There’s plenty of seating inside and some tables outside. Service was excellent and so kind. Perfect spot to cool down and grab breakfast after hiking Diamond Head.

Malasadas here are absolutely fantastic. If my wife asks me to go for Malasadas 10 times, 8 out of 10 I will go here. Ask for an extra crispy if possible Tldr: screw Leonards, go here

Great coffee and yummy malasadas! We stopped by on the way back from Diamond Head (We jogged from Waikiki to Diamond Head). What a treat! The food looks great, a good portion, and a reasonable price.

Cute little spot, perfect for quick and absolutely delicious bite. I had garlic shrimp that was literally melting in my mouth and my husband and friend had french toasts which were great as well. On the end we took some malasadas to go and they were super light and fluffy and full of delicious filling. I hope to return to Hawaii and be able to come back to this spot in a future.

This spot is perfect for a quick bite and beach day… or even a nice snack and study or work day on the laptop. Either way the prices are just right. The food and drinks are just the right thing to get the mind and body going. Even if you want to get a little desert. This is the definition of a cafe. I ordered the breakfast plate which was seven dollars and change which you cannot beat. I also have had a green smoothie and a caramel latte. Everything was great. Would tell anyone to give aloha pineapple a try.

What a find! It’s off the main strip a ways but totally worth it. It’s much cheaper than near the shore and bigger portions. I had an iced mocha and it was delish! I will be back here again for food and update this review. I have been back twice since my first review and added more pictures. The ladies are so nice and the food is so delicious! I know people think Leonard’s has the best malasadas, but I would challenge that with what they make here. The French toast plate was also delightful.

I stopped by on my way back to Waikiki from Diamond Head. Açai bowl was very good, though I would have liked a bit more granola. The pineapple chunks were generous. Loved the mint. $10 for the serving, cheaper than elsewhere, but think a tad smaller, but perfect size for me. The açai was soooo cold and refreshing, had ice bite texture. I got a large iced coffee and the two came out to $14 - cheapest I’ve experienced. Cute, clean spacious place and nice people working. Highly recommend!

Serving Tradition branded coffee beans… I was actually pleasantly surprised at the espresso served despite it not being on the menu & served in a larger to-go cup. It was robust & flavorful with lots of kick. The interior seems brand new with the bathroom just out back (by the parking) and it’s very clean. Lots of families visit for the food & the few big tables & booth seating. Very friendly staff serves you at your table, although a half hour before closing they began playing loud music that was unpleasant. If they got proper cups for enjoying drinks in-store & shade for the seating out front, this would be a great regular coffee place. 🤙🏼 4.5/5
