Ala Moana Food Court

Why is there a fly issue in this air-conditioned food court? I get. There are multiple doors to enter the food court and flies could easily enter. It is quite unappealing to be enjoying your food while having to shoo away flies. I easily took photos of empty tables/chairs where flies lingered... at 10:00 a.m. before the crowd arrives for lunch. I've eaten at outdoor takeout places where I did not experience flies. In the Ala Moana Center Makai Food Court, I was constantly shooing away flies even after we ate. The venue is definitely clean. This is not janitorial issue. It is a property management issue. Brookfield Properties should be embarrassed at their leadership.

Fairly large selection of walk up eateries. Some local style foods, many name brand fast food, and dessert places too. Lots of seating, but might be a challenge to find a place to sit during peak hours. It can get pretty crowded in here. Sanitation folks are around picking up after people and cleaning tables.

I don't think there's a bigger or more well-rounded food court around, with around 30 tenants and at 100% occupancy. They have almost every kind of ethnic food available, along with specialty drinks and desserts. The food court used to be a bit dreary but they did a wonderful renovation a few years ago. The tables are plentiful but hard to come by, long, very communal, and kept pretty clean. Parking just outside the area is very congested and impossible. This place is great for people watching too. If you can't find anything to eat here, I'm sure you will find something somewhere in this behemoth of a mall which is the largest open air mall on Earth.
