About
A Taste of Local Culture
Stepping into 855 Aloha feels less like walking into a commercial space and more like being welcomed into a local Honolulu kitchen. Located in the bustling heart of the city, this spot serves as a reliable anchor for those seeking authentic Hawaiian comfort food without the tourist-heavy fanfare. The air here carries the faint, savory scent of slow-roasted kalua pork and the sweet, oceanic breeze that defines the island climate.
Island Comforts on the Menu
The kitchen leans heavily into traditional recipes that honor the diverse culinary heritage of Oahu. Regulars frequently gravitate toward the signature loco moco, where the gravy is rich, peppery, and poured generously over a perfectly cooked patty. If you prefer something lighter, the ahi poke bowls feature fresh, firm cuts of fish that highlight the quality of local suppliers. It is the kind of straightforward, no-nonsense cooking that keeps the local lunch crowd coming back day after day.
The Honolulu Experience
The interior design is intentionally stripped back, prioritizing function over flash. You might notice the acoustics can get a bit lively during the peak lunch hour—it is the sound of a neighborhood genuinely enjoying its midday break. Seating is communal and efficient, making it a perfect quick stop for solo diners or office workers needing a reliable meal before heading back to the grind. Just keep in mind that parking in this part of Honolulu can be a bit of a puzzle, so bring a little patience or choose a time slightly off the traditional noon-to-one rush. It is a humble, honest addition to the local food scene that values flavor above all else.

We had an amazing dinner at 855-Aloha from the Auntie’s Gay Gee crispy mushroom wontons, to the Miso Caesar salad, and Kalbi ribs- all delicious and then finished with the over the top Pinepple upside down mochi cake & the Haupia pie. This restaurant is a hidden gem - not to be missed. Laidback atmosphere, great servers and obviously a very talented kitchen staff and chef. Thank you Chef Brad and your friendly and attentive servers.

I found 855 Aloha online and decided to give it a shot since it’s right in the heart of Waikīkī. The vibe looked amazing and the reviews were solid but wow, this place exceeded every expectation. I lived on Oʻahu and have eaten at just about every restaurant more than once, and hands down this might be my new favorite. Everything, and I mean everything, was incredible. The ambience, the service, and the food were all flawless. A special shoutout to China, our server, who was absolutely incredible and made the experience even better. If I could give this place 100 stars out of 5, I would. I’m already going back tomorrow to celebrate my sister’s birthday. That should tell you everything. 🌺
