1-2 Buy

Ubered all the way here and apparently it doesn’t exist anymore at this location but didn’t realize it until I was standing there in the rain pulling on the locked door as my Uber drove away!! They literally went 1, 2, Bye!! A short walk to the closest place I could find to get out of the rain was Highway Inn. While sitting there for a small bite I did some research and apparently 1-2 Buy had relocated to the unmarked building I was staring at across the street!😆 Fun stuff in there!

I’ve had them bookmarked for a while and happened to be in the area on-foot. It’s definitely not worth a special trip. You’d never know they were here as there’s no signage on the building, just a faded poster faintly visible from behind the dirty windows. I arrived a few minutes before their 10am opening. A man arrived just past 10 and unlocked the door, walked in, alarm sounding, followed by a female soon after. The lights got turned on which I took as my cue to enter. I received no greeting from either of them at any point. Their selection of Asian-market potato chips is strong. I’ve never seen so many unique flavors before. It’s a no-frills sort of place, with cases of boxes cut open and its contents on display, some on the floor and some on shelves. The rest of the products were a plethora of seasonings, ingredients, snacks, canned beverages and dry goods. I was hoping to find some specialty furikake but not even the mainstream stuff could be found. Quite a few things were 50% off, I’m assuming due to a nearing expiration date, but they’re still fairly pricey for the size you get. OVERALL: You can find similar products at H Mart and the Don Quijote chain of stores.

This is the only place to buy all kinds of foreign snacks, including unique and notable items from Japan, China, and Korea. I don't believe they sell any fake products; in fact, I recall seeing some of these exact items during my past trips to those countries. ​They also have signs in English, with many items marked at 50% off.
