Ramen-Ya (94-1221 Ka Uka Blvd Located in the Strip Mall Adjacent to Costco Waipio)

My husband and I went on a Friday at 8:00, an hour before closing. There was only one other couple dining, and we were hastily waved in by a 30-40 something lady to pick our own table, no greeting no smile, so we took one of the 6 seater tables to give the couple space, since the other 4 seater was right behind them. The same lady came over and grouchily asked "How many more people coming?" I said it was just us and asked if we needed to move. She just sneered, looked around (empty restaurant), slapped menus down and stormed off. The 60 something lady, also grumpy, took our order and brought it out. I asked for soy sauce and chili sauce (they used to keep condiments on the table last we came a few years back) she looked at me like I was crazy, but brought them out anyway. We both got combos and the ramen was delicious. The texture of the noodles was amazing and the broth savory and yummy. The chicken Katsu was really good too. The gyoza, which we took home was bland and flavorless. We sat for a long time before they noticed we were done eating and finally brought the bill. Despite the not so great treatment we tipped well, and only then were they nice, smiled and told us to come back soon.

Searched a local mom n pop shop, came across this for a quick bite, loved it, get the combo, you can split rice and ramen and get 4 gyoza on top of it for about $16 bucks. Got very busy after and they were still able to serve and get food out to everyone probably withing 5-7 minutes. Would come back !

The location is nice as it is not crowded. The service is nice and fast. Food is great for its price. We got the combo set and servings are huge! You can share the set combo. The shoyu ramen is okay. The gyoza is nice and they serve a lot per order. The spam curry is okay as well. I recommend the mixed fried rice and the mochiko chicken. They’re perfect! All in all, great value for money 👍
