Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen (94-050 Farrington Hwy)
About
A Waipahu Staple for Cajun Heat
When the craving for authentic Louisiana-style fried chicken hits in the heart of Waipahu, locals know exactly where to pull in. Situated along the Farrington Highway corridor, this spot serves up that signature crispy, shatter-like crust that has made the brand a global icon. The air inside is consistently heavy with the scent of savory cajun spices and freshly fried batter, a familiar comfort for those commuting through Leeward Oahu.
The Flavor Profile
The menu remains anchored by their legendary bone-in chicken, available in mild or the classic spicy blend that delivers a genuine, lingering heat. If you are looking for a quick lunch or a family-sized bucket, the buttermilk biscuits remain the essential sidekick, ideally paired with a side of red beans and rice. While the drive-thru line can snake toward the highway during the peak lunch rush, the staff keeps the order window moving at a brisk pace.
Perfect for On-the-Go Dining
This location is an ideal pitstop for anyone headed toward Kapolei or back into town. It captures the standard Popeyes experience: unpretentious, loud with the sizzle of the fryers, and reliable. Whether you are grabbing a quick spicy chicken sandwich or feeding a crowd, you can expect the same crunch and seasoning that has defined their kitchen for decades. Just be prepared to navigate the parking lot, as the shared space with neighboring businesses fills up quickly during the dinner hour.

I have been to many Popeyes throughout the United States, this location is the worst one. I ordered my food, my name and number was on the monitor. I was last on the list, I watched it move up until I was first one and it stated pick up, I went to the counter to pick up my order, the worker told me I have wait your order is not done, I told her the monitor stated pick up, she walked away, I then spoke to a person with a blue shirt, I told her about the monitor said pick up, she was rude and unprofessional in telling the monitor is broken and you have to wait until we get to it. I waited over 35 minutes. I will never go back to this Popeyes again.

I just want you guys to know that the guy with curly hair wearing glasses at the drive-thru was very rude. He also forgot to turn off his mic and made comments about our order while laughing at us.”

Popeyes has maintained the quality & taste as it has ever since it migrated out West. The only negative aspect is pricing The 2 piece wing & breast spicy chicken w/ one side & bisket that once cost $3.79 NOW cost $11.89 or more if you order the combo, because of that I only dine here every blue moon.

I’ve given this Popeyes so many chances, this was my last straw. I ordered a 4 piece , received a 3 piece and it’s pink/undercooked. Last time I got a chicken sandwich and 95% was crumbs/breading

Wife and I stood in line for 45 minutes to try the chicken sandwich, we got both the spicy and original chicken sandwich. Both sandwiches themselves were tasty, and good. We ate at the Waipahu Popeye's. Though it was tasty, the location was too slow and the sandwich @ $6.00 is too pricey. I didnt get full at all from the sandwich and getting 2 for $12 to try and fill me up is too much to pay. In addition, the chicken I believe is massely done so it wasn't luke warm to eat. Workers up front seemed just too tired as they explained that all day the line never stops at this location. Would I buy it again unsure if i would wait again in a fast food line for 45min+.
