DICK'S LECHON
About
A Waipahu Tradition of Crispy Perfection
If you find yourself navigating the busy streets of Waipahu, follow the intoxicating scent of slow-roasted garlic and lemongrass. Dick's Lechon has become a local institution for those chasing the authentic, golden-brown crunch of Filipino-style whole roasted pig. This isn't a place for white tablecloths; it is a straightforward, no-frills kitchen where the focus remains entirely on the meat.
The Golden Standard
The star here is undoubtedly the lechon, prepared with a mastery that results in skin so brittle it shatters like glass, giving way to succulent, herb-infused pork. It is common to see regulars lining up early on weekends to secure their portion before the day's batch sells out. While you are grabbing your plate, do not ignore the sides; the accompanying dipping sauces provide that necessary acidic kick to cut through the richness of the roast.
Know Before You Go
Part of the charm of this Waipahu staple is its raw, unpretentious nature. Be prepared to contend with limited parking in the immediate vicinity, and expect a bustling, loud atmosphere during peak lunch hours. It is the kind of spot where you order at the counter, find a seat, and let the food do the talking. Whether you are a long-time resident or just passing through West Oahu, Dick's Lechon serves as an essential stop for anyone craving a genuine slice of Filipino culinary heritage.

Food poisining: I got the fried rice lechon. Tasted good. The low rating is because I felt a little off after eating some and my stomach felt off too. Im pretty sure it was this place bc I was fine before.

I had ordered just 2 lbs of lechon and asked for the side of tomatoes and onion sauce. Well unfortunately for us when we got home it was just chopped tomatoes and onions and no sauce ?. The lechon was good but it could be better with sauce !

Lechon is bomb very crispy and meat is nice juicy and tender, skin super crunchy! Pancit was great a bit on salty side but still very tasty, pork BBQ sticks were not overly sweet, perfectly seasoned! Don't forget to ask for containers for dipping sauces! They have 4 different sauces! I love the soy sauce shoyu pairs so well with rice, BBQ sticks, and Lechon belly! Lots of parking! There sometimes is a line, it moves by fast and I didn't wait long for my order in the 2 times I've gone there! Located in a parking lot next to Petco and old navy outlet! Plate lunches at reasonable price! Pink truck you cannot miss it! Will definitely eat again when I'm around!! Highly recommend!!
