About
A Bowl of Comfort in the Heart of Waipahu
When you step into Aji Ramen, the first thing that hits you is the scent of rich, simmering tonkotsu broth—a deep, pork-bone aroma that signals patience and time. Tucked away in the bustling commercial corridors of Waipahu, this spot is a go-to for locals seeking an authentic slurping experience without the downtown price tag or the tourist crowds.
The Craft Behind the Broth
The kitchen here focuses on the essentials. You will find classic shoyu and miso foundations, but the star remains the spicy miso ramen, which packs a genuine punch of chili heat balanced by sweet corn and tender chashu pork. The noodles hold that essential springy chew, a result of being cooked to the perfect firmness. It is unpretentious cooking; you are here for the liquid gold, not a white-tablecloth service.
What to Expect
The layout is compact and efficient, favoring high turnover and quick service. During peak lunch hours, the room fills with the rhythmic clatter of spoons against ceramic bowls and the low hum of conversation. You might find yourself elbow-to-elbow with regulars or local workers grabbing a quick, heavy meal before heading back out into the West Oahu heat. Parking can be a bit of a dance in this particular plaza, so bring your patience if you are visiting during the busy dinner rush. If you appreciate a no-frills environment where the seasoning does all the talking, Aji Ramen is a cornerstone of the neighborhood food scene.

Food was excellent! Ordered the aji ramen and size of portion and quality were top notch. Best fried calamari I've ever had. The giant gyoza couldn't be any better than it was. Service was phenomenal. Wrapped up with a refreshing dessert of shaved ice and boba. Highly recommend

I went around 2 PM. It was a good time to go because the place was nice and empty. It was very clean. It had a kind of relaxing ambience. They had some good music playing .. The staff were very friendly and was quick to serve the food and I got the combo set which came with Giza and Ramen and also garlic chicken with rice and macaroni salad food but it’s worth a price. I paid $18.80 overall for all that food and this one lady came in and she picked up her shrimp fried rice so I’ll try that next time but yeah
