The Sandbar
About
Sip and Soak in Lahaina History
Positioned right along the iconic Front Street in Lahaina, The Sandbar serves as a breezy sanctuary for those wandering the historic waterfront. The atmosphere here leans into the laid-back Maui lifestyle, defined by an open-air layout that invites the salty breeze off the Pacific to mingle with the clinking of cocktail glasses. It is the kind of place where your sandals might get a little sandy, and the soundtrack is a mix of crashing waves and low-key island tunes.
What to Expect
This spot thrives on its reputation for refreshing, creative libations. The bartenders are known for their generous pours and tropical-forward recipes that keep locals and visitors hydrated under the relentless Hawaiian sun. While you are browsing the menu, you will notice the focus remains on high-quality craft beers and fruit-infused spirits that pair perfectly with a humid afternoon. The seating is casual, often featuring high-top tables that offer a front-row seat to the constant flow of island foot traffic.
A Note on the Experience
Because of its prime location in the heart of the town, the space can get quite animated during the sunset hours. If you are looking for a quiet, intimate dinner, this might not be your venue; however, if you want to soak up the high-energy social scene of West Maui, you are in the right place. Be mindful that parking in this part of Lahaina is notoriously difficult, so arriving on foot after a stroll through the nearby harbor area is your best bet for a stress-free experience. Whether you are grabbing a quick round before a whale-watching excursion or ending your day watching the sky turn purple over the ocean, The Sandbar captures the unfiltered essence of island life.

Great place to start the morning with a small coffee and breakfast bite or to end the evening a drink. Coffee is from Starbucks line and food is island made. Full bar at night. Baristas and bar tenders are all very attentive and happy to help with area knowledge and stories of the island ancestors.

We had dinner during our stay at Sheraton in Maui. We ordered flatbread, chicken bao taco and Malasada, traditional Portuguese donut! Everything was delicious! Chicken bao taco was amazing and Malasada with ube sauce tasted heaven!
