Teppanyaki 2 Go
About
Hibachi Hits on the Go
When you are wandering through Lahaina and need a quick, savory fix that moves beyond typical beachside fare, Teppanyaki 2 Go delivers high-heat execution without the lengthy sit-down performance. This spot brings the classic teppanyaki experience—sizzling proteins and perfectly charred vegetables—directly to the local takeout scene.
The Flavors of West Maui
The kitchen centers on the rhythmic sounds of spatulas hitting the flat top. You will smell the heavy sear of garlic butter and soy-based glazes long before you reach the counter. Their signature bowls are packed with generous portions of steak, shrimp, or chicken, paired with mounds of steaming, fried rice that carry just the right amount of salty crunch. It is the kind of meal meant to be eaten under the shade of a nearby banyan tree or taken straight to the shoreline for an impromptu sunset dinner.
A Quick Note on the Experience
Do not expect a quiet, romantic evening; the space is utilitarian and focused entirely on the speed and quality of the grill work. Because parking in this part of Lahaina can feel like a contact sport, most locals time their visit for an early lunch or a mid-week dinner to avoid the crowds circling for spots. If you are looking for an honest, hot, and reliable meal that fuels an afternoon of surfing or shopping, this is your best bet for a no-fuss, flavor-forward lunch.

I first tried Teppanyaki 2 Go years ago at the Wailuku First Friday event. MENU: Chicken, steak, scallops, shrimp, fried rice, and catering. FOOD: Steak & Scallops Many will say that the meat is under seasoned, but to me, it had the perfect amount of salt which brought out the natural flavors of the meat. They offered some sort of ginger-based dipping sauce which was good but I prefer my steak plain. The steak was well-done as I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked, cut into thick bite-sized cubes, and was chewy and firm, a positive for me as I don't care for super tender meat. The two thick scallops were nicely seared on both ends and had a good taste. I opted for garlic fried rice for a few bucks more. I couldn't detect any garlic flavor but the diced sauteed onions and Portuguese sausage mixed in made my buds happy. I just wish the portion was a little more as I was still hungry after, and the only reason why this isn't a 5-star review. SERVICE: The female taking orders was welcoming and friendly. OVERALL: Nice menu, good taste. Pricey? I think not as I've had fast food combo meals ring in at the same amount.

Place is overrated. Shrimps and Scallops were fresh. With white rice it was too dry since it only comes with a small cup of sauce. Vegetables are almost raw (which is probably not the best for green beans). Also some things are a bit expensive for street food. Portions are big but not huge. Definitely order upfront via phone. Waiting time is always around 45min. They accept credit cards.

Huge portions. Fresh fish at a great price. Very friendly service. So yummy! Very busy. If there is a long wait they will call you when your order is almost done.
