Pailolo Bar & Grill
About
Open-Air Refreshment by the Maui Coast
Steps away from the crashing surf in West Maui, Pailolo Bar & Grill serves as the ultimate casual escape. If you are looking for a spot where the salt air mingles with the aroma of charred pineapple and sizzling burgers, this is your destination. The layout is entirely open-air, meaning you can watch the sunset dip below the horizon while keeping an eye on the game thanks to the multiple flat-screen TVs surrounding the bar.
Signature Flavors of the West Maui Coast
The menu leans into elevated pub fare with a distinct island influence. Locals and resort guests alike often gravitate toward the signature Kobe beef sliders and the fresh fish tacos, which are consistently served with a side of house-made slaw. Pair these with a tropical cocktail or a rotating selection of local craft beers on tap. The Pailolo Mai Tai is a staple here, featuring a dark rum float that provides a robust kick perfect for a humid afternoon.
The Lay of the Land
Finding parking in the Lahaina resort area can be a bit of a dance, especially during peak tourist hours, so plan for a short stroll through the tropical gardens before you reach the seating area. The atmosphere is boisterous and unpretentious; don't expect a quiet, candlelit dinner. Instead, you get the hum of upbeat music, the chatter of vacationers, and the occasional breeze that necessitates keeping a light jacket handy even on warm nights. It is the kind of place where sandy sandals are welcome and the transition from beach lounging to happy hour is seamless.

Food was less than average, I knew this place would be a rip off & extremely MID, but it’s as if they don’t even try to make the food good. You’re literally ONLY paying for the location & the resort convenience. Service was good. The saving grace for this place was the life music and poolside ambiance. Definitely won’t be eating here again- way too expensive for unseasoned, half-assed food.

Great spot right on the beach within the Westin Kanapali resort. Good food, drinks and atmosphere. Get there early for dinner so you can witness the amazing sunset. Kid friendly.

Get the fish tacos! Chris is the best bar tender! Try to go when they are playing bingo. My daughter won a cowboy hat, and beach bag filled w goodies! Local beer was better than Mai tai! :)

It was OK. The food was blah, and kind of pricey. The beer on tap didn't taste all that great. It's almost like they needed to clean the lines. The view was great, however!

Fish tacos were tasty but the mahi was a bit dry. The avocado sauce helped a lot and I enjoyed the relish. I did received a small container of salsa and it tasted bad/rotten. The homemade potato chips were good but half were stale. Views were of course beautiful and the waiter was kind and attentive. This place was 3.5 in my opinion but rounded up to 4 for the atmosphere & waiter.

Beautiful place to hang out and watch the sunset at the same time as listen to the live music. Try the banzai fries and lava flow cocktail!

We had such a lovely experience at Pailolo Bar during our stay at our timeshare hotel. The atmosphere was enhanced by the soothing live music, and we truly enjoyed our drinks, especially the Mai Tai and a refreshing coconut concoction. Sharing a Caesar salad and a bacon cheeseburger made the meal even more delightful – both were absolutely delicious. Our server, Corry, really stood out; despite how busy it was, he was incredibly fast and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without missing a beat. It felt so wonderful to be in such a friendly and vibrant place. We can't wait to come back and create more beautiful memories there.

We came here to watch the WA Apple Cup the day after Thanksgiving. They were very busy when we first arrived but luckily someone left and we were able to get a table in the shade. We had many drinks and shared some appetizers. The service was friendly, fast and fun. We watched the bartender make drinks and he didn’t skimp on alcohol which was nice to see. Great place to watch a game.

I gave it 3 stars cuz the service was awful but the food and drinks were amazing. We arrived to find a waitress bussed a family of 3's food from their table when they got up with their small child to explore. The waitress replaced their food. We receive our drinks (tropical monkey, double) and my husband spilled his before he even had a sip. We informed the same waitress that we needed a new one. This drink wasn't cheap. While she did get a towel to clean it up, his drink never came. I finally had to go to the hostess in the middle of my meal and explain what happened. 10 minutes later my husband had his drink, after he had finished his meal. Not one person said sorry or gave an apology of any kind. They were busy but not crazy so there was no excuse. The monkey drink is excellent but I don't know if that's enough to make me come back.
