A Roadside Oasis Between Lahaina and Maalaea

If you are driving along the Honoapiilani Highway, it is easy to miss this humble wooden shack, but those who pull over are rewarded with the freshest taste of Maui. Olowalu Juice Stand serves as a critical pit stop for travelers navigating the winding coastal route. The air here smells faintly of crushed sugarcane and sweet, humid earth, a sensory signature of the Olowalu valley.

The Tropical Standard

Forget processed smoothies; this is strictly about the raw produce. The menu changes based on what is growing in the nearby orchards. You will find cold-pressed pineapple, sugarcane juice extracted right before your eyes, and local papaya that practically melts. The sugarcane juice—often served with a hint of lime—is the undisputed star, offering a clean, grassy sweetness that provides a necessary caffeine-free jolt during a long day of island exploring.

Know Before You Go

This is a true roadside experience, which means you will be standing in the elements. The proximity to the highway creates a constant hum of passing trucks, and the parking area is little more than a gravel pull-off that fills up quickly during the mid-afternoon rush. It is best suited for those who prioritize authentic, locally-grown nourishment over a polished cafe environment. Come prepared for bees buzzing around the sweet fruit scraps and bring cash, as the simple wooden stall setup often relies on old-school transactions. It is a genuine, unvarnished look at Maui’s agricultural heart, stripped of the resort polish found elsewhere on the island.

Highly recommend to avoid this place at all cost. I would go to Napili Farmers Market or Food Truck area near Honoapiilani. They have fruit and fresh coconut option. Maui Food Truck is much better options for juice and fruits. This place is rip off and very lame in customer service. They serve $10 pineapple in pineapple with just foam. They told me that they cannot do juice because it is not allowed to cut the fruits and can do smoothie but this place gave me just foam. I am not sure if that is a true statement. So I would avoid this place since there are other options available in the area.

We've been coming to Maui for years and stop here every time. This fruit stand is part of the visit. The kids love the coconuts and we love picking up gifts for friends. It's a little pricier than the large mainstream stores, but we don't mind spending a little more to support the locals. Check it out. You'll be impressed with the variety they have.

A must stop if you are in Maui, large assortment of fresh fruits juiced/blended right in-front of you. Very clean place, friendly staff, plenty of local fruits, herbs and merchandise. Easy stop, close to other attractions in the area. Great experience for the whole family including kids.
