Minit Stop (10 Kupuohi St)
About
The Local Secret of Kupuohi Street
In the industrial heart of Lahaina, just off the Honoapiilani Highway, Minit Stop serves as the essential refueling station for residents and those in the know. Forget the standard convenience store expectations; here, the kitchen runs like a local institution. The aroma of seasoned chicken frying at daybreak is the unofficial alarm clock for West Maui workers heading into their shifts.
Signature Maui Comforts
The menu is anchored by their famous fried chicken—a golden, crispy staple that locals often order in bulk for beach days or backyard potlucks. You will also find hearty breakfast plates featuring Spam, eggs, and local-style rice that hit the spot before a long drive toward the Kapalua coastline or the winding roads of West Maui. Their signature potato wedges are another highlight, boasting a distinct spice blend that pairs perfectly with a cold beverage from the wall of refrigerators.
A Grab-and-Go Institution
The atmosphere is strictly functional and fast-paced. Expect a steady hum of local conversation and the occasional line that stretches toward the door during the lunch rush. It is a no-frills environment where efficiency is the primary currency. One minor caveat for visitors: the parking lot can get remarkably tight when delivery trucks arrive, so keep your head on a swivel if you are pulling in during mid-morning hours. If you are looking for an authentic taste of how Lahaina eats on the fly, this is your primary stop. Grab your box, find a spot near the ocean, and enjoy a genuine island-style quick meal.

Recommended by one of our guides. We were at a stop light and abruptly had to make a turn to check their food. Staff were nice and accommodating. Was going to order their platter but didn’t want to make it difficult and wait so I got whatever they have. There is a reason why they don’t have KFC here per our guide. True enough, fried chicken did not disappoint. I was even told, better than Jollibee! Was so good we went back three more times!

Night shift only for visits if you need something Products are expensive. Foodland is a better option for everything compared to minut stop minus the cost of rice, its the only thing better at minut stop. Day shift has a serious problem with sanitation and after i previously called them out for handling my food improperly, today after contacting a health official last week who contacted them immediately, they took retaliatory action on me by deliberately acting as though they could nit understand what i was saying, again, while gossiping with a customer falsely accusing me of being convict and slandering me. After waiting patiently and quietly while being harassed, not one but three different women without gloves laughing and snickering felt it necessary to handle my food tray. I also was not handed a side sauce until after leaving the counter which had an unknown white substance on the side of it, oily in texture. I have had not one but four separate incidents of discrimination and hate from dayshift. Management is an embarrassment.
