Maui Princess Dinner Cruise
About
Dinner with a View of the West Maui Mountains
Step aboard the Maui Princess for a dining experience that trades the crowded harbor restaurants for the open waters of the Pacific. As you depart from the historic Lahaina waterfront, the transition from the bustling shore to the quiet swells of the Auau Channel sets a relaxed tone for the evening. You will spend the night circling the coastline, watching the sky shift from bright gold to deep violet over the silhouette of the West Maui Mountains.
A Traditional Shipboard Supper
The culinary focus here is straightforward and hearty. Rather than small plates, the kitchen emphasizes classic prime rib and roasted chicken served in a style that complements the nautical setting. Guests often find that the salt air and the gentle motion of the boat make the meal feel more substantial. While you dine, a live musician typically plays island-style acoustic sets, adding a local soundtrack to the steady hum of the engines.
Setting Expectations for Your Voyage
This is a social environment best suited for travelers who appreciate panoramic views over intimate, hushed dining. The open-air upper deck is the highlight of the trip, offering an unobstructed breeze, though you should expect a fair amount of wind—your hair will not stay perfectly styled for long. Because the vessel navigates the open channel, it is a smart move to plan accordingly if you are prone to motion sensitivity. Whether you are looking for a unique vantage point to catch a sunset or simply want to experience dinner from the water, this cruise offers a distinct perspective on the Maui coastline that land-based venues simply cannot replicate.

Overall experience was decent. The atmosphere and staff were very kind and efficient at cleaning the tables. The food was decent, dessert was cheesecake and a bit warm and the salads croutons were soggy because they applied the dressing and let it sit before we even got on the boat but the fish was very good. I can’t stress this enough but although the singer seems very nice she was just not good. The captain and her both made some funny jokes though. I don’t regret going but if they fixed the place up and got a new singer it would fit the price better. Last but definitely not least they put a bunch of paper stuff on the table like your reservation and menu and with the wind some blow and go off the boat into the water. Mine did and it was just upsetting. They put a bread basket on top but then took it off halfway through while we were downstairs and we came up to it blowing off. They really need some Velcro or something.
