About
A West Maui Hub for Craft Beer Enthusiasts
Positioned right in the heart of the Kaanapali resort area, Maui Brewing Co. serves as a bustling anchor for locals and visitors alike. This isn't your typical quiet tavern; the atmosphere here is high-energy, defined by the clinking of pint glasses and the sound of trade winds rushing through the open-air layout. It feels like a genuine community meeting point where the surf report is just as likely to be discussed as the latest experimental IPA.
Brewing Heritage and Local Flavors
As the largest craft brewery in Hawaii, the brand has deep roots in the islands. Their Kaanapali location showcases a massive selection of taps, featuring year-round staples like the Bikini Blonde Lager alongside rotating small-batch experiments that you won't find anywhere else. The menu focuses on elevated pub fare that leans into local ingredients, with their fire-roasted pizzas and wagyu beef sliders being frequent standouts for those needing sustenance after a long day at the beach.
Practical Notes for Your Visit
Because this location is a primary destination within the Lahaina and Kaanapali coastal corridor, it can get quite loud during peak dinner hours and sunset sessions. Finding a spot to park in the surrounding resort lots can sometimes be a test of patience, so arriving a bit earlier than your planned mealtime is a smart move. Whether you are grabbing a quick flight of beers at the bar or settling in with a group for dinner, the space maintains a casual, breezy spirit that captures the modern island lifestyle without any of the pretense.

If you have ever tried eating outdoors in Hawaii, you know the little birds operate with the confidence of paying customers. At Maui Brewing Co. Kaanapali, they are basically part of the entertainment. The location is fantastic with a nice view and a relaxed beachside atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in for a while. The staff were friendly and attentive, and there is even a cute store area if you feel like browsing before or after your meal. The happy hour deals are where this place really shines. It is one of the better values in the area and makes it much easier to enjoy yourself without constantly doing vacation math in your head. Food was solid across the board. The burgers were juicy and flavorful and definitely worth ordering. The calamari appetizer was another winner with great flavor and a perfect starter to share. Overall, Maui Brewing in Kaanapali delivers good food, great happy hour specials, friendly service, and a beautiful setting. Just keep one eye on your meal and one eye on the birds. They look cute, but they are absolutely scouting your table. 🐦🍔🍺

The vibe was exactly what you want on the island, great live music, an unbeatable sunset atmosphere, and a crowd that just feels good to be around. The beer selection is seriously impressive, with something for every taste, and everything we tried was on point. The food absolutely delivered too, those bao buns were next level, the poke stack was fresh and packed with flavor, and the beet dip was a standout surprise. This is one of those places where everything just hits right. Amazing energy, great drinks, delicious food… we’ll definitely be coming back, especially for sunset.

If you want to enjoy a few sips and snacks with a view of the ocean, then this is a great option! They have a wide variety of beverages to choose from and the nachos are fantastic! The rest of the food was a bit underwhelming. The chicken and fish were both overcooked and lacked seasoning. The pork sandwich was quite tasty though. The service was a bit on the slower side which was fine as we were on vacation. The server seemed totally disinterested and made very little attempt to engage. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, and would visit again just for the nachos!!

We stayed at the Outrigger Kaanapali Beach Resort while in Maui. The food and service was great. Even though we didn't have reservations each time we went it was not a long wait. First night I said 45 minutes but it was only like 20. Open air restaurant with beautiful view of the beach the and the ocean. Even an outdoor seating area if you want to just have cocktails. Speaking of cocktails the MBC Mai Tai was fabulous. I really enjoyed their Barefoot Brew beer and wife like the Bikini Blonde

We were very excited to dine at the Maui Brewing Company’s new location, which is beautiful, being right near the beach. We went for brunch and the food was absolutely delicious, with the Ube pancakes and guava pulled pork Benedict being our top favorites. The service was disappointing however. The waitress couldn’t be bothered to remember our drink orders and asked us to raise our hands when she called out our drinks, as though we were in elementary school. She barely checked on us throughout the meal and there was never any offer of a coffee refill. This would have been tolerable if she hadn’t just automatically pressed the 20% tip option when we paid. I don’t feel that this level of service is worth a 20% tip.

Maui Brewing Company in Kaʻanapali is a great spot for brunch with an incredible ocean view. The open-air seating overlooks the water and palm trees, giving the whole place a relaxed island atmosphere that makes it perfect for a slow morning meal. We ordered the granola bowl topped with fresh mango, banana, yogurt, and a drizzle of honey, along with a croissant breakfast sandwich served over a fresh salad. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced, and the roasted potatoes on the side were crispy and satisfying. The drinks were fun too—served in their signature tiki-style glasses. Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy a laid-back brunch with good food and beautiful views of the ocean. 🌊🥭☕

Food was excellent and service was on point. We came in very frustrated and 18 minutes late for our reservation because first we couldn’t find any parking because you had to fight for every space and second we couldn’t figure out where the heck the place was because there was zero signage from the road. Apparently this is normal for them but they were still accommodating. The steak nachos were a perfect medium rare. The calamari was on the bland side but the sauce more than made up for it. My wife’s Mai Tai was very strong. They aren’t messing around with their mixed drinks. Was much easier to leave once we figured out the beach route back to the car. The view was amazing.

This was our first time in this location and we had a great time! It’s not as big as the main one, but there’s plenty of space, a nice vibe and right by the water, so it was an ideal spot to hang out for a while. The beer was solid as usual, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was really good. I’m surprised to see this was only 4.0 stars as they deserve to be much higher than that. We’ll be back soon!

Maui Brewing Co. Kā‘anapali was such a convenient and enjoyable spot for us during our stay. It was located right on the property of our hotel, which made it incredibly easy to pop over for both takeout and a sit down meal. One night we ordered takeout to enjoy dinner in our room, and another morning we went in for breakfast at the restaurant. The food was tasty and there were plenty of options for everyone. A huge plus was that they offered cocktails to go, which was perfect for bringing drinks back to the room to relax. For our takeout dinner, we ordered the fish and chips, veggie burger, fish tacos, and pork bao buns. The fish and chips were the clear favorite for both my husband and our friend. The veggie burger was very flavorful and clearly made with fresh ingredients. It did fall apart a bit and was slightly soggy, but honestly that felt more like the result of a freshly made patty rather than a mock meat burger, which we appreciated. While our takeout dinner was good, we all agreed that this is absolutely the place to go for breakfast. The ube pancakes were incredible. They were a large portion, very filling, and so delicious that we genuinely wished we had gone back for more. My husband ordered the loco moco and said it was perfect. We also shared the hot mess hash, which was eggs cooked your way over a bed of veggies with salsa, and it was a great, satisfying breakfast dish. Between the convenience, solid food, great breakfast options, and the ability to grab cocktails to go, Maui Brewing Co. Kā‘anapali was a reliable and enjoyable spot that we were very happy to have so close during our stay.

Stopped here a few different times on our daily morning beach walks. There used to be a great Hawaiian restaurant here a few years ago, which sadly closed. This is the quieter end of the beach, away from the noise around Whalers. MBC opens at 7am, so it is a great spot to come down early and sit and enjoy the ocean views, whilst the beach is quiet. The bartender was great, very helpful and the Bloody Mary’s were really good. The food is just ok, but we already knew that, as we came for the views and the drinks.
