Fish Market Maui

Lovely "hole in the wall" fish place (both a restaurant and a fish seller). Food was delicious. We got Macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi one day, coconut crusted another. Always comes with tasty rice and _really_ tasty macaroni salad. They typically had a fish stew and a lobster bisque which were very tasty. It's an unassuming little place in a strip mall. Limited seating/seat yourself.

4 stars or the following: 1. Prices: - 4 stars: not bad at all, considering prices are absurdly high for eating out in kanapali (food truck food ranges from $20 to $27 and portions are rather small) this place is worth as the portions are very decent for the price 2. Taste - 3 stars: unfortunately I was expecting more on the flavor. The fish (mahi mahi) unfortunately was flavorless (no seasoning/salt), neither was the calamari. If management reads this work on seasoning. 3. Facility - 5 stars: very nice and clean and presentable. Staff is super nice and welcoming. Would I come back again? Not sure. I was left not wanting to come back again. Try it for yourself, you may feel differently. Give them a try for sure.

Small place that's great for lunch. Portions are good sized. It's a little pricey. Food tasted really great, the sea food taste shines bright.

I had the Pleasure to eat here while on vacation and their food and guacamole is amazing and delicious!!! I was obsessed with their freshly made chips and guacamole, food was so good, so fresh and so delicious. Highly recommended and definitely will continue to visit every time I’m in Maui. Keep in mind is a small place so not recommended for big parties. It has a small indoor and outdoor patio/ seating.

Great place for shrimp and fish meals for a reasonable price (similar pricing to other places). The shrimp tacos and coconut shrimp were great, the Mac salad was a little heavy for me but still good. The line was consistently 7-10 people long around dinner time but we got our food pretty quickly. There are a few seats at a bar inside and 3 small tables out front, so seating is limited (especially during busy times).

I don’t know that I’ve ever had a fish burrito, but boy oh boy, the fish of the day burrito was one of the most delicious things I had the pleasure of eating on Maui. It was one of those rare meals that had me saying “wow” between bites. Highly, highly recommend. And the chips and salsa were fresh and fabulous. Don’t wait for the dinner rush; go early or be prepared to wait. Parking is a bit tight, too. It’s a popular spot, and for good reason. Nevertheless, we didn’t have to wait long for our food after ordering… maybe 5-10 minutes. It’s not great for big groups; the shop is small and it’s a small crew. And please, for the love of god, figure out what you’re going to order while waiting in line; don’t be a boomer and hold up the whole line while you figure your life out at the register.

If there was a chance to leave more than 5 stars then this would get all of them. While we were in Maui we tried to eat at a new place each night to take in all the flavors. This restaurant was the exception. I found myself going back 3 separate times. The freshness is unmatched. You get so much bang for your buck and the veggies are very fresh. The grilled Mahi tacos are excellent and were some of my favorite meals ever. If in the area(or even not in the area) I highly suggest stopping by.

Absolutely love this place. Fresh fish, homemade guacamole and chips, what else do you need. It gets crowded and only three tables outside and a barstools inside. Locals will take it to go. Reasonable prices. Our favorite is the calamari amd grilled fish tacos.

Excellent fresh fish tacos. Deep fried tempura style, pico, cream sauce ,cabbage. I had two on the combo plate with mac salad and steamed rice. Line of people at the door when they opened. Tables out front to enjoy. Busy place. Delicious

My pre-trip online research of this place sounded fantastic. Maybe because it was their last hour, 6pm- 7, and they got a big last min rush of customers- the associates ( at the dinner side & the fish counter side ) all seemed really stoic and unfriendly. Maybe they were tired/ maybe a little hospitality training will be an easy fix. So I ordered macadamia nut encrusted ahi and a Fish Chowder. The chowder was a large serving but had 1 maybe 2 small chunks of fish! I ended up just drinking it like a beverage. Wish their was more fish- because the liquid tasted good. Maybe he didn't scoop down into the Tureen? Maybe all the earlier customers got all the fish? The fish was dry. The rice was almost cold. The Mac salad needs more (spices) flavor. Sorry, but $42 deserves better quality.
