Da Nani Pirates (2435 Kaanapali Parkway)
About
Island Flavors on the Kaanapali Coast
If you find yourself wandering the scenic corridors of Kaanapali, Da Nani Pirates offers a refreshing pit stop that leans heavily into the laid-back, sun-drenched spirit of West Maui. This spot captures the essence of a casual beachside shack, serving up food that feels like a reward after a long morning of snorkeling in the Pacific.
The Pirate-Themed Gastronomy
The menu is anchored in traditional Hawaiian plate lunch culture but with a playful, swashbuckling flair. Locals often swing by for their signature poke bowls and hearty kalua pork plates, which carry that distinct, smoky aroma of a slow-roasted luau. The textures are consistent—tender meat balanced by the crisp snap of fresh, locally sourced cabbage and sweet Maui onions.
What to Expect
Stepping up to the counter, you are met with the scent of salty sea air mixing with the sweet tang of teriyaki glaze. The atmosphere is authentically unpretentious; it is the kind of place where you don’t worry about getting sand on the floor. It is perfectly suited for families coming off the beach or groups looking for a quick, filling lunch before heading out for a sunset sail.
Be prepared for the energetic, often bustling nature of the Kaanapali Parkway area. Finding a parking spot can occasionally feel like a minor treasure hunt, but the speed of service makes the effort worthwhile. Whether you are grabbing a quick bite to enjoy on the sand or sitting for a casual lunch, Da Nani Pirates provides a grounded, honest taste of Lahaina that avoids the heavy polish of the nearby resort fine dining.

This food was fantastic. We got 4 different menu items: the Buffalo chicken tacos, the ahi tacos, beer battered fish tacos, and the ahi wrap. The portions were so generous that we almost couldn't finish. With reasonable prices and a large amount of delicious food, I'm surprised there wasn't a line. Everything nearby was almost double the price. I highly recommend getting food here.

Best fish tacos I have ever had. SOOOO GOOD!!! Everywhere was booked for Valentine’s Day so I suggested this food truck. To my surprise, the best meal we have had in Kauai and Maui!! So fresh, amazing flavor and super fast. We are definitely hitting this spot a few more times before we leave. Amazing, amazing- AMAZING!! Pics are beer battered fish and grilled shrimp wrap!

Freaking righteous! We came here after waiting over hour for reservations nearby and let me say stop here and grab some grub. This food truck is amazing. They’re friendly and gives great recommendations. Wife had the grilled chicken, comes with white rice and macaroni salad. All was great; that chicken was tender and flavorful, Mac salad was good. Also tried the pineapple coleslaw; it’s different but still great tasting. I had the fish and chips and that batter was great, seasoned and fresh. Highly recommend this place.
