Sun-Drenched Bites in the Heart of Front Street

Stepping onto the open-air terrace at Coco Deck Lahaina, Kitchen + Bar, you are immediately greeted by the rhythmic sound of waves crashing against the seawall and the faint, salty tang of the Pacific air. This spot serves as a perfect anchor for those navigating the historic charms of Maui’s most iconic waterfront district. The architecture leans into the relaxed, tropical aesthetic that defines the West Maui lifestyle, offering a breezy escape from the afternoon heat.

A Taste of the Pacific

The kitchen leans heavily into approachable island-fusion comfort food. You will find that the menu prioritizes fresh, local sourcing, featuring signature preparations of catch-of-the-day that highlight the bounty of Hawaiian waters. Whether you are craving a crisp salad after a morning of exploring the Banyan Tree nearby or a hearty plate paired with a cold craft beer, the offerings cater to a casual, slow-paced dining experience. The bar program is equally focused, specializing in bright, fruit-forward cocktails that pair perfectly with the golden hour light hitting the deck.

Navigating the Deck

The atmosphere here is undeniably vibrant, often buzzing with the laughter of locals and travelers alike. It is an ideal setting for groups who want to linger over drinks without feeling rushed. A quick note for your visit: while the location is prime, the popularity of the harbor area means that parking along the main drag can be a bit of a puzzle, so plan to arrive with a little extra time to find a spot. Once you secure your seat at one of the teak tables, the bustle of the town fades into the background, leaving you with nothing but great food and an unobstructed view of the horizon.

Overall: 4/5 Food: 3.5+/5 (only tried 2 dishes) Drinks: 2/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4.5/5 Price: 2/5 Got smash burger with fries and ramen. Burger and fries were 4.5 stars. Juicy flavorful burger. Ramen could of had more stuff in it was a little bland but looked really good in person and in pictures- 2.5 stars. Margaritas were very weak but had ok flavor- 2 stars. Only canned beer, no draft:( Solid service. Cool atmosphere with TVs for sports, bar, and patio. Can't really see TVs from some patio spots. Beach view from patio. Pricey but typical for Hawaii.

This was a good meal and we would probably go again. The food and drinks were good. It was family friendly (they had a well stocked and well loved play area) The bar was busy and the restaurant was lively. It is located in an area with quite a few restaurants (near the Cannery Mall) The server did forget to order/bring an additional drink, but it was ok.

Coco Deck is amazing. Our non-reservation arrival for 4 was seated in minutes on a busy night without any hesitation. The service was excellent. Our capable server Fernanda held a true knowledge of the kitchen capabilities and what was offered with grace and efficiency. Cocktails and appetizers were on the table within a few minutes and attentive service throughout the meal followed. We loved the poke doughnut, fish tacos, smoked sirloin, and the amazing ube malasada desert! Truly this is a venue with great potential and a welcoming atmosphere. Chef Alvin Savella is leading his team toward an epic reputation with plates that are served with excellence and creativity. While other nearby venues are packed and difficult to enter, Coco Deck invites a casual walk in guest to enjoy classic fresh dishes prepared with a unique perfection.

We came here twice because it was SO good! The first time we got lucky with seating with two spots at the bar. It's a pretty cramped spot where you share a space with the servers & their drink orders plus the restaurant was really hot, but none of that matters when you get the best burger & birria ramen you ever had in your life! The second time we made a reservation 😅 and had the same burger & birria ramen!

Seeking a lunch spot, we recalled a recommendation from our hostess at Mala Ocean Tavern, who suggested their sister establishment, Coco Deck Kitchen, located across the street. Having made a reservation via OpenTable, we were fortunate to arrive shortly after their opening, where we were warmly greeted by a helpful gentleman who provided us with an excellent ocean-view table, a rarity in both Maui and our home state of California. Our waitress was awesome as well. For beverages, we enjoyed lemonades, wine, and I opted for a hazy IPA. My lunch consisted of an excellent smash burger and unique fries. My son found the fried chicken sandwich satisfactory, although he preferred a single patty over the two thighs. My daughter chose chicken tenders, while my wife ordered the sweet potato tacos, which, while palatable, did not meet her personal preferences.

My husband and I made a reservation for 7:45 on a Thursday (3/5/26) evening and we were promptly seated on the patio after a minute or two. We waited almost 15 min while reviewing the menu without a server checking in or getting any water. I made eye contact with a blond woman who was serving everyone else on the patio. She was inside and looked right at me and then turned around and continued drying plates. At this point I’m extremely thirsty and considering getting my water bottle from the car as the party that was seated after us had already gotten water and were placing drink orders. My husband then gets up and asks the hosts to send a waiter. One of them came and took our order. Then a male waiter came (Daniel). He was kind and great at explaining the menu. We did have to ask for him one more time before finally receiving water at 8:08pm. I immediately drank half the glass. We each got the coconut risotto fish / mushroom dish and the shared the ahi tuna donut. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. A bit heavy so not something I could eat often. Was not interested in drinks or ordering anything else here. We initially, upon being seated, saw they had happy hour 2-4 and planned to return the next day for the fish tacos and Lilikoi sorbet but after the service we decided to visit the water front tavern across the street instead and enjoyed their HH instead.

We had such an amazing experience! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful, the birria tacos were perfectly seasoned and tender, and the loaded fries were out of this world. Every bite was seriously so tasty. Our waiter, Jesus, was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. The vibe was relaxed and chill, which made it such a great place to hang out and enjoy a great meal. Highly recommend!

Watched the Seahawks game here and had the best time. Great atmosphere, lively but relaxed, perfect spot to enjoy a game. The food was amazing fresh, flavorful, and honestly some of the best we had in Maui. Drinks were great, service was friendly and attentive, and the vibe felt very local and welcoming. Perfect place for good food, sports, and a fun Lahaina night. Would absolutely come back!

Coco Deck was a fine stop- nothing particularly unforgettable, but a chill, laid-back bar vibe that made for an easy, relaxed meal. We sat on the patio, which was really nice and right across the street from the water, even though it was dark. Service was great the entire time, which is the main reason we're rounding this up to 4 stars. Everyone was friendly, fast, and attentive. Food-wise, everything was good- not amazing, not terrible- just solid. We enjoyed the fish tacos and the fish & chips. The "My Girlfriend Isn't Hungry" add-on was cute and catchy, and the queso tacos were actually pretty good. But the chicken strip in the combo? Sad. Just a basic frozen-and-fried strip that felt like zero effort went into it. I liked the mixed fries concept, but it honestly felt like we got the leftovers- all the tiny, broken pieces at the bottom of the batch. Drinks, however, were good, and pricing felt fair for the area. This restaurant is owned by the same owned of Mala Ocean Tavern across the street, which we almost went to instead. Overall, Coco Deck is a perfectly fine place to grab a casual bite with good service and a great patio. Not the kind of spot you rave about later, but solid enough that we didn't regret stopping by. Generous 4/5 stars.

We came during happy hour (2-5pm) and got fish tacos ($5.50 ea), nachos ($10) and a salad ($9)… it was just the right portion for two average sized eaters. The service and atmosphere were amazing, they hade Sunday Noght Football playing on the TVs. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit!!
