Beachwalk Kau Kau to Go
About
Local Flavors Steps from the Lahaina Shoreline
When you are wandering through the heart of Lahaina and the salt air works up an appetite, Beachwalk Kau Kau to Go serves as a practical, no-frills outpost for island-style fuel. It is the kind of place where you grab a plate lunch and head straight for a nearby bench to watch the Pacific waves roll in. The kitchen focuses on the local tradition of 'kau kau'—a pidgin term for food—offering hearty portions meant to keep you moving throughout your day on Maui.
The Quick-Bite Experience
Don't expect white tablecloths or complex table service; this is purely about utility and local comfort. The menu leans into the classics that define Hawaiian quick-service dining. You will find familiar staples like teriyaki chicken, crispy fried fish, and generously scooped macaroni salad that hits the spot after a morning of snorkeling or walking Front Street. The smell of charred meat and steamed jasmine rice is a constant, welcoming presence that cuts through the breeze.
Why Visit?
It is best suited for beach-goers and shoppers who prioritize flavor and convenience over a formal dining setup. Be prepared for a bit of a localized quirk: the outdoor seating area is communal and exposed to the elements, which means you might be sharing your space with the local roosters or a gust of wind. It is a genuine slice of West Maui life—unpolished, straightforward, and incredibly convenient for a fast afternoon snack.

Staff was really nice . I had a few pool side items while staying at hotel. I tried pizza shrimp fry’s prime rib corn and potato’s . The food was pretty good a little on the pricy end but if you like poolside it’s worth it.

Service was ok at the bar, bad at tables. Ate here 2 times this week, hoping each time that the food would be better, but it just stayed average and over priced. Better off going to whalers village.

I last came here in 2018 and it was good then. Not sure what happened but in 2025 you should just eat at the Starbucks next door. It was disgusting food and the price was tripled what the food was worth. I could only eat half and I felt bad for the landfill for throwing the rest away. Stay far away from this place. 🤮
