Taco Bell - Kailua (Mokapu Rd)
About
Fueling Up at Marine Corps Base Hawaii
Located right inside the perimeter of the Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe Bay, this Taco Bell serves as a reliable pitstop for service members and base personnel. Unlike your typical roadside fast food joint, this location carries the distinct hum of base life—expect a steady stream of uniforms and the rhythmic drone of base activity right outside the door.
Signature Staples for a Busy Schedule
Whether you are grabbing a quick lunch between training exercises or looking for a late-night fix, the menu remains true to the classic Taco Bell lineup. The Crunchwrap Supreme remains the go-to for many, offering that familiar combination of warm, crispy textures and seasoned beef that hits the spot when you need something fast. It’s consistent, hot, and prepared with the speed necessary for those on a rigid schedule.
A Local Quick-Service Staple
While the footprint is compact, the facility is clean and efficient. Be prepared for the standard base entry protocols; it is a unique quirk of dining on-base that you will need proper military credentials or base access to reach the counter. The atmosphere is functional and stripped back—this isn't a spot for a long, lingering conversation, but it excels at providing a quick, familiar meal in the heart of the windward side of Oahu. The scent of seasoned taco meat and grilled flour tortillas greets you the moment you step into the terminal, offering a brief sense of comfort during a hectic workday.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Burritos are barely filled, the app doesn't work with this Toco bell most of the time. And they close earlier too. What's the point of a fast food restaurant if I can't go there whenever. I only go there a night because that's when I get off work, I don't have time during chow most the time because of the high tempo my unit has so I only really have the time to go in the evening or at night. The rare occasions when I do walk over there for chow I sit there for at least 20 minutes, and that's after I ordered thru the app before making the walk over there. When I do get my food the boritos are so poorly wrapped that they almost fall apart in my hands. Half the time I unwrap it and I find them burnt. Not a little burnt, like the entire underside is stiff from how burnt it is. I swear the chow Hall workers make better burritos more constantly than they do and their food is absolutely disgusting.

This Taco Bell and the Marine Corps food court is pretty good. The food isn't that great but the service is, which is what makes it awesome. The presentation is not good, but the workers are so nice and they're so awesome. There's just one guy named Kenzo Kenzo's the goat. He makes it fun. Going to Taco Bell cause like he enjoys himself so it's like entertaining. He's just kind of silly you know. 10 out of 10.

Terrible quality and the employees actively hate that you ordered there. The wait times are an eternity.

For mobile orders they usually take over 25 minutes for fast food they are unacceptably slow by far the slowest taco bell I've ever been too

I ordered a pickup and showed 20 minutes after and still had to wait over 10 minutes after letting them know i was there. They also had two girls behind the counter in plain clothes laughing with and distracting the employees. I believe they work there but it was very unprofessional and poor management. The food is mediocre compared to the mainland taco bells as well.

Ordered on the app, checked in and sat down. About 8 people came in after us and about 45mins past and still no food. We spoke with the team lead and she said we were next and didn’t know why we kept getting skipped. 2 more people later we still didn’t have our order. We spoke with her again and she asked the main cook why we didn’t get our order and he said “I don’t do online orders first”. So an hour later we got our food. We will not be going to this Taco Bell ever again.

They didn't have orange juice and I had to have soda even though it's one of the drinks we can replace a drink in a combo menu.

Every Taco Bell are different and it's hard to rate them. Some locations are our favorite places and others are not too much. Depend on the Customers services you received from the front counter to the people in the back preparing your foods.

Normally I don't leave a review, but I've constantly have had problems with this specific location and it usually occurs at night. Tonight I ordered 3 items and was accidentally charged (but refunded) $19 for an uber eats order. I told the lady at the drive thru politely that I thought the total was like $10... she looked at the screen and disrectfully told me that it was $19. I told her what I had ordered and there was no way that the 3 items I ordered was $19. The situation got fixed and I got charged $10... i got my food and my visit was probably a total of 20 minutes because they were busy. I got home and my food was cold and the cheese in my burrito was cold and not even melted. It had lettuce which I did not ask for and normally I wouldn't make a deal about it but because this particular experience was bad it just completely topped off the overall experience. Before I ate my burrito, I ordered chips and cheese and came home to find out that I got the chips but not the cheese. This has happened before where I might get one or the other during the night shift. I skipped the Kaneohe location because I had been getting better service in Kailua, but it seems like it's only during the day. I wish I would've just gone to the Kaneohe location and wait the whole ride home to kailua to eat my food. The night shift never seems to enjoy their job and when there's a rush, there's always a mess up and it usually seems to happen with me. If you don't like your job, it might be time to find something else.

You missed the ingredient called lettuce on both tacos in my order. Don't know if this was just laziness or incompetency. Pretty sure the only reason people go here is because it is close to their home and they don't have to go through the gates. Quality control needs improvement.
