Plant Based Paradise Kailua
About
A Refreshing Oasis in Kailua Town
Finding plant-based fuel in the windward side of Oahu just got a lot simpler. Tucked away within the relaxed, beach-centric community of Kailua, this spot serves as a vibrant hub for those seeking clean, earth-conscious ingredients. The air here is consistently filled with the sharp, bright scent of freshly squeezed citrus and herbaceous greens, providing an immediate sensory reset from the midday island sun.
The Culinary Approach
The menu focuses on elevating simple produce into substantial, satiating meals. You will find that the kitchen prioritizes texture as much as flavor, moving far beyond basic salads to offer bowls that balance hearty grains with house-made fermented toppings and crisp, raw vegetables. It is the kind of place where the colors on your plate look as vivid as the coastal landscape just a few miles away.
What to Expect
The environment is decidedly informal and open-air, matching the laid-back pace of Kailua residents. While the seating area is compact, it is perfect for grabbing a quick, nutrient-dense bite before heading toward Lanikai or Kailua Beach. Be mindful that during the weekend morning rush, the small storefront can get quite busy, and finding a spot for your rental car nearby requires a bit of patience. This is an ideal destination for surfers, hikers returning from the nearby pillbox trails, or anyone in the Kailua area looking for a genuine, plant-forward meal without the fluff.

I've had many Acai bowls here on the islands. Nobody makes a better one than Nalu. Their salads are equally amazing.

Deeeeeeelicious and nutritious!! Such a great stop and great lunch while exploring the area. They had fresh ingredients and generous portions! I got a wrap and a smoothie.

One of my favorite acai places on oahu. The acai is very dark and not overly sweet. So if you find that acai can be too much sugar... this is your bowl! The fruits on top are always perfectly ripe.
