Kailua Town Pub & Grill
About
A Neighborhood Anchor in the Heart of Kailua
If you find yourself wandering through the Windward side looking for a low-key spot that feels like an extension of your own living room, Kailua Town Pub & Grill is the neighborhood go-to. Located right in the middle of the breezy Kailua shopping district, this is where the local crowd ends up after a day at the beach or a long shift.
The Flavor of Local Life
The menu leans heavily into comfort food staples that hit the spot after some time in the sun. The kitchen is best known for its hearty pub burgers and crispy fried appetizers that pair perfectly with an ice-cold pint. You will catch the faint scent of sizzling griddle grease and malt as soon as you walk through the door, a scent that signals you are in for a casual meal rather than a white-tablecloth affair.
What to Expect Inside
The interior is unpretentious, defined by dark woods and the constant hum of sports games playing on the monitors. It is loud in that endearing, boisterous way that makes it easy to lose track of time over a round of drinks. Be mindful if you are driving—parking in the busy lots surrounding the plaza can get tight, especially on weekend evenings, so plan to stroll a block or two if you arrive during the peak dinner rush.
This spot is tailored for those who prefer their dining experiences without any formalities. Whether you are looking for a quick lunch of fish and chips or a place to settle in for a nightcap with friends, the staff keeps the mood light and the service efficient. It is a quintessential slice of Kailua community life, where the focus remains strictly on cold beer, hot food, and the easygoing rhythm of the island.

It states online that there is no reservations accepted. Walked in at 5pm. Literally 2 tables had two people sitting down. All the other tables were empty, as was the bar area. We were walked to the back where we were told that they were full for the evening. Even at the bar apparently. No openings at all. Really? I call BS. The chef was outside the front of the building, chain smoking. Yeah. Real busy. It looked gross inside anyway, the floor was sticky and the tables were filthy. Glad we weren’t served, we can do without a healthy dose of e.coli.

Not sure on the food because I haven't had a chance to eat here yet! I have to assume it's amazing because this place is always packed. I only experienced the staff. An extremely beautiful and helpful bartender! She had the right to refuse my service considering I was only graced to be in her presence for the begging of breaking a hundred dollar bill for me that I wouldn't even be spending in her establishment! I was actually in the Kailua Domino's and they couldn't and or would not have change for my $100 bill on my $17.76 pizza and a 2.0L Dr Pepper purchase. I told her I would purchase a soda and leave a tip for troubling her. I heard disgruntled murr murrs from the patrons in the bar area. She broke the bill for me with absolutely 0% resistance and followed up with a courteous and award winning smile! I left her a $20 tip for her professionalism and rajah dat kine attitude! I don't know her name, but Mahalo all the same! I recommend to anyone that happens to roll through Kailua! Stop here and have a drink and and some grinds! The atmosphere alone will, like that bartenders smile! Make your day shine!! Mahalo!!

In town and looking for a bite. Saw the overall rating but should have dug into the reviews. The place is serviceable if you are looking to catch a game and grab a beer but food leaves something to be desired. More pub than grill.

OK, we are from Phoenix Arizona and we stopped at a local Golf Course Olomano to check in for Times to go play golf this week since we’re only here seven days, guy at the front desk about best place to watch the football game which was on tonight the Chick-fil-A peach bowl and and we happened on this place and it has the most amazing food and the atmosphere is ridiculously fun for a small place, super loud super fun and very good people. Service is slow but they bust their butt, be patient, you only live once!! Kiki❤️ made it fantastic, she even took a call for us!! Ask for extra pork on the Nachos, can’t miss!!

We came for lunch and drinks. They were transitioning to a new drink menu. That would have been fine, however they didn't have the new menu and couldn't make most of the drinks on the current menu due to not having the ingredients. While we understand this kind of transition can be good, basically running yourself out of stock just to make room for the new and not having a interim menu is disappointing. When we asked if they could make basic drinks, the bartender/waitress clearly didn't have a great knowledge of mixology. My wife ordered a white Russian which was made with milk. Perhaps once the new menu is fully up and running it will be better. However I can't recommended this location based on the poor management of the transition.

Can for Thursday football randomly and really liked the place. Kiki is a great bartender and $5 beers are hard to not like. The fish and chips were fantastic!

It was a little confusing entering and trying to figure out if it was open seating bc there was no one to approach us for seating. There’s two selections of seating one in the bar and the other in the restaurant side. We ended up getting the restaurant side bc it was a little bit quieter. But the our waitress was great and our food was delicious 🤩 I would recommend the pizza and the pasta 🤤 the pizza crust was really good 👏🏼☺️ highly recommend.

Well, it's been a couple of years since I've been here. Back in town on contract, well on the other side of the island. I thought I would stop by here, so here I am. Ordered the calamari to start and the cheeseburger to finish. Took a bot to get back to me. Its a little busy, but they both came out at the same time??. Ugh, lol. She said she was sorry but it's not her fault. Anyway, they both tasted pretty good. I forgot to add bacon to my burger!!. It was cooked just right, though, medium rare!! Overall, not bad at all. Good atmosphere, good bar service. Friendly.

LOVE this place. Amazing food, friendly staff, great environment. Onion rings are killer! Burgers are amazing and the 15 oz. steak (no that's not a typo, it's 15 ounces!) is a mouthwatering bargain any steak-lover shouldn't pass up!

Really fun pub, antique or vintage feel with a beautiful wooden bar. Delicious food, incredibly accommodating and friendly staff, and drinks! All add up to a real fun experience. Burgers are cooked to order, poke nachos are a must, the chips are like won ton chips, you can not go wrong here! Probably the best food we have experienced and a incredibly cool atmosphere!
