Cafe Kopi (45 Kihapai Street)

I enjoy visiting Cafe Kopi, but the experience has been somewhat inconsistent. There are several standout items, including the Singapore Laksa, bacon cheese quiche, and fruit pastries. However, the pastries can vary in quality and are occasionally greasier than expected for French-style offerings. Service can also be uneven, often appearing to involve new or training staff. On a recent visit, my quiche was warmed up but still pretty cold inside. Overall, it’s a pleasant café with strong potential, but consistency in both food quality and service would greatly improve the experience.

Cafe Kopi is a must stop in Kailua!! Been coming here for years, and the coffee and food is always on point, plus the staff is super friendly. My go tos are their house-made chai or a cappuccino, and a pastry. Coffee is the best on O’ahu in my opinion, and trust me, I go to a lot of cafes. OMG I also have to say that their ube cream puffs are literally the best thing I’ve ever eaten. So creamy and delicious on the inside with the perfect crunch on the outside. 😩🤤 I love their spam Musubi (they also have mushroom version for vegans) and their BLT sandwich with house-made aioli on a sesame bagel. The overnight oats are also soooo good. I literally could eat and get coffee here every day. I love the atmosphere here because the inside is super spacious with huge windows and good AC, and the outside has plenty seating in back and front. It’s a great place to come get some work done (hard to find good work spots in Hawai’i!), cuz the coffee is banging and they have outlets. But I’ve also met friends here plenty times and it’s the perfect place to chat and hang out. Not to mention the cafe is dog friendly (they serve pawpuccinos!) and kid friendly. And don’t miss the free parking in the back!!

Spacious and nice interior space for a coffee shop. The latte was ok. $1 extra for oat milk seems excessive. Tiramisu was essentially all cream cheese—the worse tiramisu I’ve ever had anywhere.

This is truly a wonderful place! The atmosphere is very cozy — inside there are many different paintings, drawings, and interesting details that create a special vibe. You can tell the interior was made with care, and it’s simply a very pleasant place to spend time. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the service leaves only good impressions. The food is very delicious and everything is prepared wonderfully. And another great thing is that the prices are very low — you can eat a good meal, feel full, and still be totally comfortable with the bill. I highly recommend this place! 😊🤍

I had breakfast at cafe Kopi today and it was honestly the best breakfast I’ve had in Hawaii. The portions are big, the food is very filling, and everything tasted amazing. The coffee here is incredible — I ordered just a regular cappuccino, but it tasted so good. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend trying the salmon sandwich (bagel lox) — it’s delicious! And don’t miss the purple cheesecake, it’s incredible. Definitely recommend this place!🌞💜

Loved the food and coffee. Ube cheesecake was amazing. Our breakfast bagel sandwiches were really good. Great portions, and the mustard gave them a real nice kick. Great service. Will definitely be back on our next trip.

This coffee shop is such a cozy little gem with a great vibe. The art on the walls and shelves is so unique and adds to the charm—if you can, purchase something to support the local artists. We love coming here for pastries and coffee; both are always fresh and absolutely delicious. It’s a popular spot where people come to work, study, or simply hang out with friends. The outdoor tables are a big plus, especially during peak hours. One thing you MUST TRY is their Singapore Laksa, available Fridays to Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—it’s insanely delicious! Highly recommended.

Whoever the pastry chef is here, someone needs to marry them. This vegan cinnamon roll was the best I’ve ever had- vegan or not. Cafe Kopi has creative rotating pastries, friendly staff, and a community atmosphere. Can’t wait to see what creative vegan pastries they come up with! 10/10 :)
