A Taste of Thailand Near the Maui Hub

Tiki Tiki Thai Cuisine brings the bold, aromatic spirit of Southeast Asia to the bustling streets of Kahului. Conveniently situated for those navigating the island's central transit corridor, this spot serves as a reliable go-to for locals seeking an authentic midday meal or a relaxed dinner after a day of island errands.

The Sensory Experience

As you walk in, the scent of crushed lemongrass, galangal, and searing chilis fills the air—a promise of the heat to come. The space is casual and unpretentious, defined by the clatter of woks and the hum of conversation. You will find a menu that hits the classics with precision; their Pad Thai arrives with the perfect balance of tamarind tang and crushed peanut crunch, while the Green Curry carries a distinct, fragrant creaminess that pairs beautifully with jasmine rice.

Local Insights

This is the kind of place where flavor takes precedence over frills. It serves as an ideal stop for a quick lunch during a work break or a low-key evening bite. A minor heads-up for first-time visitors: the parking lot can get a bit congested during the lunch rush, so patience is a virtue when finding a spot in this busy commercial pocket of Kahului. Whether you are craving the fire of a Tom Yum soup or a refreshing Thai iced tea to combat the Maui heat, the kitchen prioritizes traditional preparation methods that stay true to its roots.

Excellent food. Visited twice in 2 days. Good option for dine-in and Takeout. Spicy basil fried rice was delicious. Must try Thai place.

This is the BEST Thai food and experience I have ever had. As a well traveled person, this may be one of the best places I have ever ate. This stop was a happy accident on our way to the airport. The chef came out to explain how to eat her food and she was so passionate. The server was fantastic and the food was perfection. The crispy rolls were my favorite. Highly recommend coming here! I wish I could go back weekly!

While visiting Maui, we stopped in this little gem. Very friendly and very good food. I had the pineapple rice with chicken. Big portions.

Food looks good but fair Thai and WAY overpriced! The crab Rangoon was $16.

Kinda get what you pay for, though the portions were small I think. Rice pudding was too sweet for my liking.

I recently dined at Tiki Tiki Thai Restaurant in Dairy, and I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. Seeking something different for dinner, I stumbled upon this charming hole-in-the-wall, and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. I ordered the shrimp tom yum soup, chicken pad Thai, and Panang beef, and each dish tasted authentically Thai. I would give it a 5-star rating and can't wait to return! Atmosphere was a little quiet but cozy.

The food was excellent. I had the hot and sour soup and the papaya salad both of which can be requested without the fish sauce! My husband usually has the Massamam curry which he said was better than most of the ones he’s tasted. The server was very friendly. There are no public restrooms in the place so you have to walk across a shady looking parking lot (we were there after dark) which was scary. I had my husband accompany me. 😅

It was a very clean place and a very good food ! I did think my food could’ve used a bit more seasoning but I’m used to Thai food from NY so I don’t have much of Maui to compare this to. I would recommend this place for sure ! The staff was very nice and the decor is great as well. I’d say the downside was that the food was definitely more on the expensive side. If you carry cash you can avoid a 3.5% extra credit card charge so make sure to carry some cash!

Corny name aside, Tiki Tiki Thai Cuisine turned out to be pretty legit! We're regulars at Thailand Cuisine in Maui Mall so it was hard to stray from our favorite. ATMOSPHERE: Located in Dairy Center, there's nothing fancy going on. Parking can be an issue as the mall is heavily occupied. MENU: Thai apps, entrees and desserts. FOOD: Khao Yum Nam - $15.00 Though not stated on the menu description, this dry, curried rice dish was a bit spicy. Pass. Summer Roll - $11.00 I didn't try any as I don't care for summer rolls in general, but the spouse reported it as "good". Yellow Curry (with chicken) - $14.00 I almost mistook this for soup as there was an overabundance of liquid. Creamy, coconutty, delish. Pad Woon Sen (with chicken) - $14.00 Noodles are my weakness and this was a great choice. With subtle savory curry flavors, it had a good protein to veggie to glass noodle ratio. Tom Yum Soup (with chicken) - $16.00 My spouse and I are on the fence with this version. Compared to the recipe we're used to at Thailand Cuisine, this one tasted like it had little to no cream in it, still very aromatic due to the spices but was a tad overly salty. Thai Style Spicy Basil (with chicken) - $23.00 Hands down our favorite dish of them all. The ground chicken could've passed for ground pork! This dish reminded me of a goulash minus the macaroni and tomato sauce. Highly recommended. Crispy Spring Roll - $12.00 The only disappointment of the bunch as it came with just seven tiny cut up pieces of spring roll for the price. Good texture and flavor but not worth the price. SERVICE: My spouse did takeout (I wasn't there) and said the service was very good. OVERALL: Different flavors than we're used to. Our second favorite Thai restaurant on the rock.
