Marco's Grill & Deli
About
A Taste of the Philippines in Central Maui
Stepping into Marco's Grill & Deli feels less like walking into a commercial space and more like dropping by a family friend's kitchen in the heart of Kahului. The air is consistently thick with the savory, garlic-heavy perfume of sautéed onions and simmering vinegar, a siren song for anyone craving authentic Filipino comfort food. It is a no-frills, utilitarian setup—functional tables, overhead fans churning in the island heat, and a bustling energy that peaks during the lunch rush as local workers fill the room.
Signature Island Favorites
The menu remains a reliable rotation of Philippine classics. The pork adobo is deeply caramelized, striking that difficult balance between soy-sauce saltiness and the sharp tang of cane vinegar. Locals frequent this spot specifically for the crispy pata and the pancit, which arrive in portions generous enough to sustain you through a full day of surf or work. If you are adventurous, their breakfast silog plates—served with garlic fried rice and a runny egg—provide a heavy, soul-satisfying start to the morning.
What to Expect
Don't come here expecting white-tablecloth service; this is a place for hearty meals and casual conversation. The service is straightforward and efficient, often moving at the speed of the local crowd. While the parking lot can get remarkably tight during peak hours, it is a small price to pay for one of the most genuine culinary experiences in Maui County. It remains an essential stop for those who value flavor and authenticity over polished aesthetics, making it a reliable staple for anyone traveling through the central island corridor.

We had time for lunch before our afternoon flight out of OGG, so we stopped here. This is a diner with an Italian flair but plenty of non-Italian options. Our salad and pasta were fine. Service was great--very friendly and helpful.

We were visiting Maui with over 20 family members. We came here for our daughter’s birthday. We were not expecting great Italian food in the middle of the ocean…. We were wrong!! Great food, great drinks, great service!! We got multiple salads (all amazing), the bruschetta and mozzarella marinara were ordered x4 for our table!! For entrees they modified several for us, the eggplant Parmesan was the best my wife has had, and multiple other dishes were the best we have had. Our party was 23 people and they took care of us like a 5-star and only a party of 2!!
