Thailand Cuisine 2
About
A Taste of Bangkok in the Heart of Maui
When you find yourself navigating the busy corridors of Kahului, Thailand Cuisine 2 offers a sharp turn away from standard island fare. This is not a place for white-tablecloth pretense; it is a straightforward, no-nonsense storefront where the air is thick with the sharp, acidic tang of lemongrass and the deep, roasted perfume of chili paste. The room hums with the steady clatter of woks and the chatter of locals grabbing a quick, reliable lunch during the workday.
Signature Curries and Wok-Fired Classics
The menu leans heavily into traditional recipes that prioritize balance. Their Red Curry, simmering with creamy coconut milk and bamboo shoots, carries a legitimate kick that sneaks up on you. For those who enjoy texture, the Pad Thai remains a house favorite, served with a generous heap of crushed peanuts and fresh bean sprouts that provide a necessary crunch against the tender rice noodles. Everything is cooked to order, so don't be surprised if your stir-fry arrives with a bit of a wait—the kitchen refuses to batch-cook their proteins.
Practical Dining in Maui’s Commercial Hub
Located right near the central business district, this spot is ideal for those who value substance over spectacle. It is perfect for a casual midday refuel or a low-key takeout dinner after shopping nearby. A small note for visitors: the parking area can get exceptionally tight during the lunch rush, so you might need to circle the lot once or twice. Once you get inside and grab your first forkful of spicy basil chicken, the logistical hurdles of Kahului traffic tend to fade into the background. It is honest, spicy, and consistently authentic Thai cooking served without the fuss.

My wife and I really liked this place. We were wasting time before our flight. Love the atmosphere, made me think of a small place in Bangkok. They were busy, so the service was a little slow. But the food tasted really authentic.

I'd give more stars if I could. Started coming here back in 2022 on a weekly basis for a good 2 years. Left the island for awhile and when I came back this place was first in my list. I was surprised that the owner still recognized me when I walked in the door. As always the food service and atmosphere is unmatched. If youre looking for a nice family run buisness with food made with love. Ya gotta come here

We stumbled across this place after a shore excursion dropped us off at the mall. We have Thai once a month or so in the Midwest so we weren't sure what to expect for Thai in Hawaii. I don't know how to describe it other than to say it tasted fresher and more flavor-ful. We saw staff from the ship here, so we knew this had to be a great spot. So glad we stopped in!

Despite the food being expensive and the portions small, it is the best Thai food restaurant on Maui. The food here is the best!

I have been to Maui 4 times and had Thai food every time I visited…Thailand served me the best Thai food I have ever had on the island. The owner are original from Lao, they are real nice people!!! Pls check them out, it’s only 6 minutes from the airport in case you get out the flight hungry or before catching your flight.

Eating Thai food is like a part-time job for us. We live on Maui and we are in Thailand exploring Thai food quite often. Thailand Cuisine at the Maui Mall is your best choice for authentic Thai food. The owners are there every day, full time, ensuring that every dish is prepared to perfection. When you are ready for high-quality, fresh, authentic Thai food, check out this hidden gem!

Unfortunately the loss of a star prompted me to write this update at one of our favorite Thai places. While a 4-star isn't anything to sneer at, a perfect 5 is hard to maintain with me, especially with inconsistencies. My nephew-in-law was visiting and loves this place which is what brought us here yet again. FOOD: We each ordered our favorites. For them, Tom Yum Soup, Matsaman Curry and sticky rice. Me, Crispy Noodles with Chicken and jasmine rice. While they enjoyed their dishes, I felt my dish was not as good as before. The gravy was lighter in flavor and color. They wanted more sticky rice but they ran out. How do you run out of rice in the middle of the dinner rush hour? Sounds more like someone was too lazy to cook more. They also no longer offer the delicious Siam Toast. And while I understand the rising cost of life, they've raised their prices significantly within the past few years, sometimes twice within the year. It's not the deal it once was. SERVICE: This floundered, badly. The former staff used to be so friendly and efficient but currently it felt more like a Chinese restaurant experience - very curt and cut throat. There was no greeting for a good five minutes, no beverage offer, didn't get checked-on throughout, my spouse's beer arrived late and we had to ask twice for a special sauce. Little things that make a big difference. OVERALL: I'm still a fan but won't be in as often. I think they're still the best Thai restaurant in the area as I'm not a fan of food trucks.

Absolutely hands down the best Thai food I have ever had. I am surprised this place is not rated high! It’s an easy sit down, comfortable and the food is delicious. We got the red curry and Yum Woon Sen Chicken salad. That salad đŸ¥— is to die for. I would fly from LA for this!

We stumble upon this Thai restaurant while we were looking for food in the Maui mall. I like the decorations and the vibe of this place. It looks very authentic and traditional. Their Thai ice tea is also bomb! It taste very tea liked but with Thai style ! Their food is okay, rice is not included doe ($2.95) for a tiny bowl of rice. The server that day was not very friendly
