Subway - Kahului (East Kamehameha Ave)
About
A Quick Bite in the Heart of Maui
When you are navigating the busy corridors of Kahului and need a reliable meal that fits your schedule, this location on East Kamehameha Avenue provides a straightforward solution. Positioned conveniently for those heading toward the airport or finishing a day of shopping, the shop serves as a familiar stop for residents and visitors alike who prioritize speed and customization.
Customized Ingredients and Local Favorites
The appeal here lies in the assembly-line approach. You watch your sub come together, from the choice of freshly baked bread—whether you prefer the hearty multigrain or the classic Italian—to the final drizzle of sweet onion sauce or chipotle southwest. The smell of baking bread is the first thing that greets you upon entry, a distinct aroma that defines the brand. It is an ideal spot for a quick lunch break or a portable meal before a flight, though be prepared for the lunchtime rush when local foot traffic peaks near the central business district.
Practical Dining in Central Maui
While the footprint is compact, the efficiency of the service remains the priority. The staff here handles high-volume periods with a systematic pace, ensuring your veggie-packed protein bowls or signature footlongs are prepared accurately. It is a no-frills environment, perfect for a grab-and-go meal when you need something predictable and satisfying without the wait of a traditional sit-down establishment. If you find yourself cruising through Kahului, this corner offers the consistency you expect from a staple sandwich shop.

They said I picked up an item, but I never did and I got charged for no reason with no items in my hand that’s insane

This particular Subway sets a high bar and is the best every time. No matter how busy they still give smiles to everyone that takes the time to notice. Energy of staff is what you hope for when supporting a business that has competition, and I see a lot of unfair reviews here given I am in twice a week for lunch .

Picked up on the way to Hoopika Beach Park. The persons who packed the lunch for us were very pleasant and answered my questions.

I like this Subway because it's conveniently located on the exterior of the mall and has adequate parking. Service can be quick or slow depending on who's in line and what and how many things they're ordering of course. I had one unfortunate incident happen years ago when the female worker making my sandwich was talking on the company phone while holding the phone with the plastic gloves on and making my sandwich at the same time. I walked out half way through the process.

Updating my review since the Subway at Maui Marketplace is no longer open and those workers transferred to this Subway at Maui Mall Village. Really like the local gal and guy who used to work at the Maui Marketplace one, but work here now. Thank goodness they do as they changed that place around for the better! Very efficient and experienced and both very pleasant with customers. We usually do take out and lately have been ordering online for faster pick up as they can get busy there.

These guys are busy! We went there during lunch time and the staff had made a great sandwich even though they were very busy. However when we returned during dinner time the different staff was just doing a crap job. We are vegetarian so all the veggies are all we get on our sandwich and they didn't even do a proper job putting those on. Like more than one inch on both sides of my sandwich was empty!

So, I went into this subway the other morning. Was ignored for a period of time as they clearly saw me standing there. The girl then asked, "Do you have a question?" Um, wrong start, her greeting should have been."How can I help you?" So I asked for coffee, and she said "Oh we don't serve coffee anymore." Yet I'm clearly looking at an advertising sign that says COFFEE. So if you don't sell something then don't advertise it. Cute and adorable Christmas 🎄 tree, though, but it doesn't make up for the lack of customer service and false advertisement 😑

I got a but the bread was super hard the lobby a big mess I had to wipe my own table off I asked for help and the customer service was terrible the soda machine isn’t working and they expect you to pay for way over priced drinks in a bottle the man cleaning the lobby is in candles and out of uniform I can see his toes and that is disgusting if he’s working wear the proper uniform

We ordered over $300 worth of sandwiches from this Subway when we hosted a company event. Every sandwich was fresh, tasty and delicious. They provided all condiments, napkins, and even some very yummy cookies. Ordering was simple and all food was neatly wrapped, boxed and bagged for easy transporting. Staff, and the owner Tony, are very nice and wonderful to work with. If you want a single sandwich or enough to cater an event, check out the Subway in Kahului. You won't be disappointed.

There are no issues in the food and atmosphere. The 2 issues I have are that one of the workers needs to know who is next in line, and she grab a sandwich from the oven that belongs to a person who is second in line of me. I told her I'm in line first, but didn't even try to make the correction. The second issue is that they need to clean the tables and throw the trash out.
