Oao Sushi Go
About
A Quick Escape for Sushi Lovers in Central Maui
When you are navigating the busy corridors of Kahului and craving something lighter than a plate lunch, Oao Sushi Go offers a focused menu that prioritizes speed without sacrificing quality. This spot is a local favorite for those who need a high-quality lunch break or a convenient dinner pickup before heading home from the airport area.
Crafted for the On-the-Go Diner
The space is minimalist and functional, stripping away the white-tablecloth pretense in favor of efficiency. You can hear the rhythmic chop of knives against cutting boards as the team prepares signature items like their spicy tuna rolls and vibrant California rolls. The air carries the clean, sharp scent of vinegar-seasoned rice and crisp nori, a welcome departure from the heavy, fried smells common in nearby food courts.
It is an ideal stop for solo diners or office workers in the heart of Maui’s main commercial hub. While the footprint is compact and the parking lot can get frantic during the midday rush, the turnover is remarkably fast. If you appreciate a kitchen that values consistency and fresh fish over elaborate decor, this is where you go.
Local Favorites
Beyond the traditional rolls, regulars often look for the house-made sauces that add a unique kick to their sashimi bowls. The chefs here keep the menu tight, ensuring that every piece of hamachi or salmon is handled with care. If you find yourself in the middle of a shopping trip or finishing up business near the Kahului harbor, it serves as an excellent, no-nonsense refueling station that respects your schedule while hitting the spot for a fresh sushi craving.

Good fresh sushi and sashimi. The scallops are very fresh. Rolls are very good too. Very close to the airport and open all day. It is my first stop after landing.

The fish here is unbelievably fresh. Although there’s not a lot of space inside, the wait wasn’t terribly long for lunch. They also have outdoor seating. The prices here are a lot more affordable than their other restaurant, OAO sushi, so perfect for lunch. This was my first time trying their chirashi bowl, and in my opinion, it was definitely more worth it than ordering the sashimi a la carte.

An absolutely delightful spot that I somehow discovered for the very first time - even after visiting Maui so many times before. 🌺 The menu is wonderfully varied, featuring portions made with incredibly fresh ingredients. Even the ginger was remarkably fresh and juicy, adding a perfect little spark of zest to my nigiri. The edamame? Simply magical—cooked to perfection! ✨ Overall, I truly loved everything and can’t recommend this sushi haven enough to anyone who appreciates authentic Japanese cuisine. 🍣❤️
