A Slice of Havana in Central Maui

Stepping up to the window at Alba's Cuban Coladas offers a jolt of energy that goes well beyond the caffeine. Tucked away in the industrial heart of Kahului, this spot brings a vibrant, sun-soaked Caribbean rhythm to the island. You won't find a sprawling dining room here; instead, it is all about the brisk, efficient service of a true sidewalk ventanita, where the air is thick with the sweet, caramelized scent of strong espresso and pressed bread.

The Art of the Colada

The menu is focused and deliberate. Their signature Cuban coffee is served with the traditional layer of frothy, sugar-whipped crema, meant to be shared in small cups among friends. If you need something more substantial, the Cubano sandwiches are the standout choice, featuring slow-roasted pork that pulls apart with the slightest pressure, layered with salty ham, swiss cheese, and pickles that offer a sharp, acidic crunch against the buttery, toasted crust of the bread.

Local Flavor with a Caribbean Twist

This is the ideal destination for anyone passing through the central Maui hub who is tired of the usual quick-stop chains and wants something with genuine personality. While the parking lot can get a bit congested during the morning rush as commuters line up for their daily fix, the quick pace of the service keeps the line moving. It’s loud, it’s bustling, and the staff manages the busy window with a practiced efficiency that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. Whether you are grabbing a quick breakfast before heading toward the airport or stopping for a midday pick-me-up, Alba’s brings an unpretentious, authentic warmth to the local food scene.

A great place to get a cup of coffee. For the big caffeine kick try the laloca. Also, Maui best kept secret. The beef empanadas are da bomb. Show up early they sell out fast.

We got spoiled by Alba experiencing a cortado for the first time while visiting Maui. My fiance has been on a hunt ever since all over the US to find a comparable cortado and we just can’t! I am on island again and had to share that with Alba. She loves her product so much and believes in it, and it shows!! Anytime anyone puts that much love into what they create, it really sets them above the rest. Her Cuban colada stand is a must must must visit. She’s been making these drinks for 25+ years! Go see her and be ready to join the club of being ruined by how epic her drinks are compared to the rest.

While visiting Maui, I had a chance to stop by Alba’s truck on my way back from the farmer’s market. I love Cuban food and Cuban coffee so I had to give this a try and ordered a colada. I’ll start by saying I’ve spent time in both Miami and Havana, Cuba where I’ve had a chance to sample some outstanding Cuban coffee and Alba’s is as good or better than the best ones I’ve had Havana. The coffee is smooth without a bitter or harsh aftertaste and has just the right amount of sugar and sweetness that you would want in cafecito or colada. I enjoyed the first one so much that I had to get 2 more for the road and later in the day! This will definitely be a stop for me every time I am in the area.

Albas Cuban coladas cart truly offers an incredible and authentic experience that’s hard to find anywhere else, especially in Maui. The rich, bold flavors of their coffee, crafted using traditional methods, transports every customer straight to Cuba. At least it made me feel that way; after the owner of the cart shared the beautiful and inspiring story of where the name “Albas” came from. So amazing to travel across the world and experience the immense pride the locals take in their business’s. It’s incredibly unique. Albas Cuban coladas is a very unique gem in the heart of Maui. The ONLY good coffee you’ll taste in the island bringing a taste of culture and community that you won't find at any other spot. I truly invite everyone to come and experience the magic for themselves. Thank you Christina, for the hospitality and the sweet stories shared. My family and I can’t wait to be back!

The best coffee on Maui—very smooth and creamy! As someone from Miami, it reminds me of my grandmother’s Cuban coffee. The aroma coming from this is incredible, and the empanadas are packed with flavor. This place is as authentic as it gets!

Arriving a little after 1pm, I can understand being sold out! Normally I would celebrate this for a business! Windows were still opened and items on the counter for purchase. When I asked about a coffee I was given a very short “we are sold out” … considering there were many other food trucks I asked if there were other coffee trucks in the food court.. I was given a short answer “no”. When I turned around there was a smoothie truck that served coffee — a simple gesture to the next truck over would have been much more kind and “mahalo” … so sad to leave a negative review for what might have been a good cup of coffee.

I am from Miami, Florida and currently on a 10 day trip in Hawaii with my girlfriend. A couple of days ago, we both had the surprise and pleasure of being able to enjoy Cuban coffee at Alba’s. As a lifelong Miami local, I can vouch for the owner Christina’s coffee and tell you that her coffee is more than on par with the Cuban coffee in Miami - even better because of the homemade touch with this particular coffee, as well as Christina’s warm and friendly service. I never thought that I would find superb Cuban coffee out here in the Hawaiian islands and was delighted to have come across Alba’s Cuban Coladas. Delicious and a must-visit when in Maui!

Went to Upcountry Farmers Market and stumbled upon this gem across the street!! Great Cuban Coffee , Great Island Vibes & was made with love fresh to order. Better than Porto’s coffee in my opinion! Albas is showing Hawaii what beautiful food & drink culture Cuba has to offer. Thankyou🙏🏽 …
