Tamura's Fine Wine And Liquors Pearlridge
About
Fresh Catch in the Heart of Aiea
Walking into Tamura's Fine Wine & Liquors near Pearlridge, the first thing that hits you is the unmistakable scent of sesame oil and shoyu. While the shelves are stacked high with an impressive selection of international wines, craft beers, and premium spirits, the true magnet for Aiea locals is the poke counter hidden in the back. This isn't your typical grocery store grab-and-go; it is widely considered the gold standard for fresh, high-quality sashimi-grade fish in the central O'ahu area.
The Poke Counter Experience
Expect a queue during the lunch hour—the popularity of their spicy ahi and furikake-dusted salmon is no secret. The staff works with efficiency, turning out bowls that emphasize the freshness of the catch over heavy, masking sauces. The texture is firm, the seasoning is precise, and the portions are generous. Grab a container of their signature poke, a side of warm rice, and perhaps a cold craft beer from the coolers, and you have the quintessential local picnic meal.
A Neighborhood Essential
The space is functional and utility-focused, prioritizing inventory variety over posh decor. Don't be surprised if the aisles feel a bit narrow as you navigate toward the refrigerated sections; it is a busy spot that caters to both wine connoisseurs looking for rare labels and neighborhood residents stocking up on dinner supplies. Whether you are a visitor looking for an authentic local meal or a Pearlridge regular, this shop remains a cornerstone of the Aiea food scene. Keep in mind that parking can get tight during peak hours, but the trade-off for top-tier poke is well worth the effort.

Great variety of liquor and individual drinks. Best poke! Hands down! The dynamite, sunrise, and ginger are the best IMO. You can’t go wrong with any of them honestly. They load it up, it’s super fresh, and it tastes amazing. For two choice it’s $16.99. Everyone I’ve taken here has loved it. This time I got the lychee yogurt soju cocktail to try and it was the perfect addition.

They have a wide variety of liquors here, but the highlight is the poke. It’s very fresh and a variety of flavors are offered at a reasonable price. The ninja ahi was my favorite, garlic ahi & spicy ahi were also very good. Everyone working there was also very pleasant, can’t wait to come back!

Decent selection of beers and wines from around the world, including some Bordeaux and Burgundy, which I was happy to see. Nothing too wild or creative as regards wine styles or products, tho. The sake selection is really why I’d come here : Good range of prices and grade options. As to local beers and international beers, there’s a whole skew. Prices are competitive. A lot of people come here for the poke counter.
