Ricado's Italian
About
A Slice of Italy Near Pearl Harbor
Stepping into Ricado's Italian, you are immediately met with the savory, sharp aroma of roasted garlic and simmering pomodoro sauce that defines this Aiea local favorite. This isn't a high-concept fusion spot; it is a straightforward, no-frills neighborhood eatery that prioritizes the comfort of a heavy pasta plate over avant-garde presentation. The dining room feels lived-in and warm, filled with the steady clatter of silverware and the hum of conversation from residents returning from nearby military installations.
Hand-Crafted Comfort Classics
The menu leans heavily into the traditions of Italian-American soul food. Regulars often bypass the starters to get straight to the signature baked ziti, which arrives bubbling in its ceramic vessel with a crust of perfectly browned mozzarella. If you prefer something heartier, the chicken parmesan is a standout, featuring a breading that maintains its crunch despite a generous ladle of house-made marinara. Every serving size is unapologetically massive, ensuring that you will likely be carrying a white paper bag out the door when you leave.
The Neighborhood Experience
Located conveniently for those cruising along the Kam Highway, the restaurant serves as a reliable anchor for families and couples looking for a consistent weeknight dinner. Be aware that the parking lot can get tight during peak Friday night hours, so you might need to exercise a bit of patience when pulling in. Whether you are looking for a quick bite after a long day or a low-pressure spot for a casual date, Ricado's provides a sense of familiarity that has kept it a mainstay in the Central Oahu food scene for years. Expect attentive service and a relaxed pace that encourages you to stay a while, soak in the ambient jazz, and finish that final piece of garlic bread.

“Food was very very delicious”. Portion size I would say was directly on point but for the pricing I would expect to have a little leftover. Had to ask twice for separate items. Food all came out separate 4 plates about 3-4 min within each other also saw my waiter serving other tables there plates in between getting mine . Got mine first so I had to wait for my wife and kids to get theres. My food was still very worm. 100 percent will be back next vacation. “Water guy deserves a shout out cup never got past half empty that’s good service”. Thank u sir

I’ve been coming to Ricardo’s for a very long time, and the food has always been consistently good. It’s one of those dependable spots I can always count on for a solid meal. The place itself is a bit dated, but the quality of the food and the familiarity keep me coming back.

It's been decades since I've last visited Ricados but the food and staff are still great! Food is tasty and it's a nice, comfortable but elevated vibe in the restaurant. They give warm and soft fresh complimentary bread to start off with too! Our waiter, Donovan was extremely friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend this place if youre in the area and looking for good Italian dishes.
