Pho Five-O
About
A Hearty Bowl in the Heart of Aiea
If you find yourself navigating the busy corridors near the Pearlridge area, Pho Five-O offers a straightforward escape into the world of traditional Vietnamese comfort food. The shop cuts through the noise of suburban sprawl with a no-nonsense approach to the classics, serving as a reliable fuel stop for locals and those commuting through Central Oahu.
The Aromatics of the Broth
The centerpiece here is undoubtedly the beef broth. It hits the table steaming, carrying the distinct, deep scent of charred ginger, star anise, and toasted coriander. Whether you opt for the standard combination pho or lean into the brisket-heavy options, the portion sizes are generous enough to satisfy the most demanding appetite after a day of shopping or work. You will notice the bean sprouts and basil arrive crisp and fresh, providing that necessary crunch against the silky texture of the rice noodles.
Setting the Scene
The interior is functional and bright, prioritizing speed and efficiency. It is the kind of place where the sound of clinking ceramic spoons and the rhythmic hiss of the kitchen dominates the audio landscape. It is not designed for a long, lingering romantic dinner, but rather for those moments when only a savory, restorative bowl of soup will do. A minor tip for visitors: while the parking lot serves the surrounding businesses, it can get tight during peak lunch hours, so plan for a quick lap if the spots are full.
Why Choose This Spot
Pho Five-O remains a staple for Aiea residents because it maintains consistency without pretense. It is well-suited for a quick solo lunch, a casual mid-week family meal, or a reliable takeout order when you want to bring the warmth of Vietnamese spices back home. If you appreciate a kitchen that respects the fundamentals of a long-simmered stock, this spot deserves a place in your rotation.

My Other Half and I have been going here for 11 years and still go at least twice a month. Love their broth for the pho, the noodles are a great texture, their sauces elevate the flavor and their staff are friendly. This place has been a place of comfort for us over the past decade ✨️

First time eating here! Amazing BBQ Pork Bahn Mi! 5/5 we had to order another one as soon as we finished our sandwich! But the Pho was so-so. The noodles were a bit soggy 2/5

Tried this place on a whim and it exceeded my expectations. We tried the hot tea, and two different pho bowls (#13 & #15). Large portion of pho was served. It’s a small place but the service is very quick!

I was craving pho while on that side of town and found this place. Small enough place to be ran by 2 people. Located in a busy area with lots of choices. My order came out fast. You have to ask for water and refills are sparse but I had my flask on me. I wish they gave cilantro, it would have made it so much more delicious. I would eat here if I’m ever down that way again. Quiet and cozy. They did fill and clear a few tables while I was there so it seems like a popular place.

Overall, good, I can't judge anything about the food too harshly, but I've simply had better. The summer rolls were generously stuffed, but I would have liked fewer noodles and more veggies. The sauce had a deeper flavor than most that I've had, which I appreciated. The combination pho came with a good variety of meats, the steak and beef balls being the highlights. The broth was solid, with decent umami. However, it didn't "wow" me like some broths have in the past. Again, while I can't point to anything specific being sub-par, I simply wasn't amazed and therefore can't give it a full 5 stars.

Fantastic restaurant and experience with plentiful and great tasting authentic Vietnamese cuisine! They were kind enough to seat our party of five near their closing time! Big Kiné Mahalo and we’ll certainly be back again real soon! 🤙🏼 …

Just what we needed! Husband ordered #15 Beef Pho, and I ordered #22 Beef Combo. Pho Noodle soup only comes in one size, and that is large. I loved the broth. It's always about the broth. Thank you!
