About
Aiea’s Go-To for Steaming Bowls
When you find yourself navigating the bustling corridors of Aiea, Pho 97 One stands out as a no-frills destination for those serious about their soup. The air inside is consistently thick with the savory, spiced aroma of star anise and slow-simmered beef bones, a scent that signals authentic preparation from the moment you step through the door.
The Flavor Profile
The kitchen keeps it classic, focusing on a clean, clarified broth that provides a delicate base for the tender cuts of beef and fresh herbs. Unlike the fusion-heavy spots scattered across Oahu, this neighborhood staple sticks to the fundamentals: generous portions of rice noodles, crisp bean sprouts, and a house-made chili oil that brings a sharp, welcomed heat. It is the kind of meal that demands a quiet focus, punctuated only by the occasional clinking of ceramic bowls.
Local Vibe and Considerations
The atmosphere is strictly functional and utilitarian, making it ideal for a quick solo lunch or a low-key dinner with friends who prioritize substance over decor. Be prepared for the reality of the local commute; parking in this pocket of Aiea can get tight during peak meal hours, so consider timing your visit to avoid the midday rush. The staff works with a rhythmic efficiency, moving through the small dining area with practiced speed to ensure the rotating tables are cleared quickly for the next party looking for their comfort-food fix.

Actually Pretty Good! It is not hard to find decent Pho in Hawaii, but it is hard to find Good Pho! There are a few, and this one is a good one! My complaint is that the prices for this place and all places in Oahu so far is ridiculously high! I swear in Vietnam 2018, Pho is around $1-$2 and it is awesome! But I guess rent and supplies in Hawaii must be crazy. Anyway the broth is very clear and full of flavor. I love that! They put a lot of meat in the Pho, but it is a bit on the touch side. Tasty though. Good amount of noodles and chewy texture! Good!! So, this place is a hidden Gem....hard to find...easy to miss it. Hope my review is helpful! I highly recommend this place! Saves me a trip from going to Chinatown!

The won ton soup with saimin was just the ticket for us to eat. Lots of delicious broth, shrimp and calamari. We both needed a take out as we could not finish even half before we were full.

Excellent Pho here. Summer rolls and spring rolls were also great. What's even better was the service they provided. They were very friendly and always smiling.
