About
Aiea’s Go-To Spot for Rich, Nutty Ramen
Tucked away inside the Pearlridge Shopping Center, Goma Tei Ramen has become a staple for Aiea locals craving a soul-warming bowl of noodles. While the mall environment is bustling, the interior feels like a focused escape dedicated entirely to the art of the sesame broth. The open kitchen design allows you to hear the rhythmic clatter of strainers and the sizzle of woks, signaling that your order is being crafted with precision.
The Signature Sesame Experience
The star of the show is undeniably the Tan Tan Ramen. Unlike the lighter shio or shoyu styles, Goma Tei leans into a heavy, creamy sesame-based broth that clings perfectly to their signature medium-thick, curly noodles. The heat is balanced by the nuttiness of the ground sesame, making it a favorite for those who enjoy a bit of spice without sacrificing depth. If you have room, the pork gyoza is a reliable side—crisp on the bottom and juicy throughout, providing a sharp textural contrast to the soft noodles.
Practical Dining Notes
Because this location is a prime destination for lunch breaks and weekend family outings, you might encounter a wait during peak hours. The acoustics can get quite lively, so it is better suited for a casual meal with friends rather than a quiet, intimate date. Parking is plentiful due to the expansive mall lot, though be prepared for a bit of a walk depending on which garage you choose. It is a no-frills, high-impact dining experience that nails the fundamentals of Japanese comfort food right here in the heart of Central Oahu.

Meat is always dry, after eating here everyone had stomach issues all day and night. 'Special sauce' tastes like old tasteless mushy salsa. Expect to spend long hours in the restroom after. Katsu is super thin and hard. Soup flavorless. Fried chicken is old and hard as rock. Fried Rice old all old food. Noodles undercooked.

I went to Goma Tei Ramen today and had a great dine in experience, especially with the rainy weather, which made it feel extra cozy. We waited less than 10 minutes to be seated, and our server came quickly to take our order. The food arrived at the table faster than expected. Our server was very friendly, always smiling, and checked on us a few times to make sure everything was good. We tried the Tan Tan ramen and the flavor was incredibly delicious, with the noodles cooked perfectly. I also ordered the char siu fried rice to go, and it had a rich, savory taste that I really enjoyed. Definitely coming back to this location.

Best place to eat Ramen hands down. Their Ramen noodles are perfection. You can pretty much close your eyes and pick something and it’s gonna taste good. Definitely the only place I go to for Ramen. I ordered the Vegetable Tan Tan - highly recommended!
