Gordo's Mexican Food
About
A North Shore Staple for Casual Bites
When you are cruising through Waialua and the craving for no-frills, authentic Mexican hits, Gordo’s is the go-to pit stop. This isn't about white tablecloths or fancy plating; it is about hearty portions served quickly, perfect for fueling up before a long day at the beach or winding down after surfing the North Shore swells.
What to Expect on Your Plate
The menu leans heavily into comfort food staples. The burritos here are substantial, often wrapped tight enough to handle on the go, though you will want to grab plenty of napkins. Patrons frequently gravitate toward their carne asada plates and zesty salsas that provide just enough kick to wake up your palate. You can smell the savory, seared meats the moment you step up to the ordering window.
The Local Rhythm
Located right in the heart of Waialua, the spot reflects the laid-back energy of the town. It feels like a neighborhood kitchen where locals catch up while waiting for their order. Be aware that during the lunch rush or peak surf hours, things can get a bit crowded near the entrance, and parking requires a little patience, as the lot is compact. If you prefer a quieter experience, aim for a mid-afternoon visit when the pace slows down and you can snag a seat in the shade to enjoy your meal while the island breeze blows through.

Awesome food, awesome service. We went there twice in our 1 week trip to Oahu. First time, on Friday afternoon, the server was fabulous, he told us the story of the chef and entertained us very nicely. Second on Monday evening, the restaurant was too busy and service was sloppy with milder flavors in fajitas. Try to go in the afternoon. And restaurant should try to focus on quality than quantity in the evenings.

Delicious blackened fish tacos!! I order fish tacos wherever I travel. It's one of my favorite dishes, and these are some of the best I've ever had. There was a hearty helping of fish in each taco. The toppings were a perfect compliment to the fish without being overwhelming. Highly recommend!!

We went to Jorge’s Mexican in Haleiwa and had the best surf and turf fajitas of my life! The shrimp were big, garlicky and perfectly cooked. The chips and salsa are bangin’. Ask for their homemade habanero hot sauce! Heather our waitress was super attentive and sweet.

We tried the cocktails here and they were really good. The vibe is energetic, the waitstaff is very sweet and attentive, and the town itself is beautiful. A great place to stop for some drinks and light snacks while exploring the area.

By far the best Mexican Food on the island. Surf & Turf Fajitas were delicious and enough for two. You get what you pay for!!! Our server couldn't have been nicer. She was amazing! So refreshing to get great fast friendly service here in Hawaii. To the owner(s?), please open in Waikiki & consider South Lake Tahoe too!!! 🤘🤟✌️👍🥳

Such good food, such fast service, and really convenient location. The fish tacos were super good, the carnitas tacos awesome as well (small portion), and the shrimp quesadilla was really delicious too. We were there during happy hour and the prices were really worth it. If you’re craving good tacos and Mexican food after the beach, I highly recommend this restaurant!
